The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dennis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bowels looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Bowels on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bowels tries to get out of the position.

Dennis tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dennis has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

It looks like Al Dennis has been cut.
Bowels pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bowels closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dennis to the mat! Dennis manages to get full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dennis is on top in guard.
Bowels is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Bowels seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
