PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sol Badguy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lucas Torres had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.8lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. On his way into the cage it seems that Lucas Torres has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Lucas Torres seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torres moves out of range as Badguy strikes.
Torres fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Torres uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Badguy.
Badguy wants to clinch up but Torres keeps it at a distance.
Torres tries to close the distance and clinch up but Badguy swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Badguy tries to clinch up but Torres circles away and keeps his distance.
Badguy avoids the body shot from Torres.
Torres takes a swing at Badguy's ribcage but misses.
Torres shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Badguy as he avoids it easily.
Badguy throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Lucas Torres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Badguy misses with a jab to the body
and Torres counters with a left to the body.

Badguy fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Torres, pushing him back against the cage.
A nice right hand lands inside from Badguy.
Torres jumps guard but Badguy stands there with Torres around his waist. Torres gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lucas Torres. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Torres tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Badguy just stands there and leans against the cage.
Badguy lands a shoulder strike.
Torres's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Badguy lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Torres backwards.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Badguy.

Badguy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Badguy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Torres was well out of range. Poor timing from Badguy.
Torres defending well as Badguy loads up on a big left hand.
Badguy is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Badguy moves into range and connects with a jab.

Torres is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Badguy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Oh Torres is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Torres ducks under a wild hook from Badguy.
Torres will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Badguy pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Badguy missing with a left hand there. Torres was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Torres seems to have got his legs back now.
Badguy loads up on a big right hand but Torres slips the punch.
Badguy tries to clinch up.
Torres gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Badguy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Torres was well out of range. Poor timing from Badguy.
Torres swings away with a body shot that misses
and Badguy counters with a huge left! Torres is in big trouble! He's backing up but Badguy isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Torres from any more damage. A dominating finish by Badguy!
