Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Spikey Norman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Zhan Yung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spikey Norman has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Spikey Norman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kim Zhan Yung! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Norman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Yung shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Norman is looking for a sweep. Yung is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Yung is keen to just control but Norman is a slippery customer. Norman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Yung is working away from the top position though. Norman is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Norman is trying to control but can't.
Yung is trying to work for a kimura but Norman is defending well.
Norman wants to control but Yung is keeping busy.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Yung tries to clinch but Norman is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Norman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Norman uses his free foot to push down on Yung's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Yung. Norman is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Yung to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Yung shrugs it off. Norman jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Yung is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Yung and Norman has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Norman trying to control but he's not successful this time. Norman goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Yung turns into him and now he's in Norman's guard.
Norman is breathing heavily. Yung trying to control the position from guard on top but Norman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yung tries to free his leg and advance position but Norman is retaining full guard. Norman is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Norman wants to sweep here but Yung controlling him for the moment. Norman manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Norman looking to control but Yung is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Yung prevents Norman from taking his back. Norman moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Yung has worked his arm free - good work by Yung!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Yung is trying to control Norman's posture but Norman avoids it. Yung manages to work his way to half guard, despite Norman's best efforts. Norman is just content to waste time from the top position. Yung takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Norman trying to control the position from guard on top but Yung is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Yung has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kim Zhan Yung dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Norman tries to score a power double leg takedown but Yung sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Norman somewhat. Yung shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Norman counters with a lovely straight right hand! Yung slips a jab and a cross from Norman.
Yung drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Norman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Yung trying to control the position from guard on top but Norman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Yung with a nice head shot there. Norman lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Yung! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Norman goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Yung is on top in guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Norman throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Yung postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Norman is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Yung, into his guard. Yung avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Norman looking to pass the guard. Yung wants to sweep here but Norman controlling him for the moment. Norman drops back, looking for a kneebar! Yung looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Yung looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Yung! Yung tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Yung goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Norman rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Yung's guard! Nice work there by Norman!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Norman is looking to advance position but Yung has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Norman holds on to Yung as tight as he can, avoiding damage. Norman has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Yung has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Yung is hanging on to Norman's back as he tries to escape.
Yung scores with punches and elbows. Norman fending off the submission attempt from Yung.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Norman turns into Yung and is now in his guard.
Yung keeping moving, preventing Norman from controlling successfully. Norman advances to half guard. Norman trying to pass the guard but Yung defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kim Zhan Yung showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Yung bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Norman is looking to regain half guard here but Yung keeps moving and retains side control. Norman regains half guard. Yung seems to be looking for submissions.
Norman wants to get back to full guard. Yung is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Norman sees it coming and defends easily. Norman gets back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Norman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Yung gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Yung is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Norman keeping moving, preventing Yung from controlling successfully. Norman uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Spikey Norman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Norman fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Norman closes the distance and lands a one-two. Yung moves into the clinch. Yung drops down looking for an ankle pick but Norman pulls his leg out and moves away.
Yung drops his hands momentarily and Norman takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yung throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Norman was covering up waiting for the punch and Yung finishes the takedown easily into guard. Yung thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Yung wants to pass the guard but Norman is keeping the position. Norman bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Yung's guard. Norman preventing the sweep. Norman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yung looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Norman stands up over Yung, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Yung looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Yung keeping full guard, as Norman tries to pass. Norman drops back looking for a leg! Yung is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Yung manages to kick Norman off! Norman jumps back into Yung's guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Yung dives in and grabs Norman's left leg, looking for a takedown. Norman pushes down on Yung's head and hops out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. A combination from Norman does no damage. Yung misses with a takedown attempt - Norman sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Spikey Norman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kim Zhan Yung. A combination from Norman does no damage. Decent striking displayed by Norman there. Yung slips a jab from Norman. Yung tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Norman swivels and escapes. Norman lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Yung at a distance.
Yung takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Jab, jab by Norman - just one landing. Norman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Norman is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Yung keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Spikey Norman. I think Yung has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
