The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turman stuffs the takedown attempt from Ribeiro. Ribeiro gets slowly back to his feet.
Ribeiro shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Turman as he jumps to the side.
Ribeiro tries to close the distance and clinch but Turman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ribeiro shoots in and drives through. Turman sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thiago Ribeiro. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ribeiro dives in and grabs Turman's left leg, looking for a takedown. Turman pushes down on Ribeiro's head and hops out.

Turman clinches up with Ribeiro and pushes him back against the cage.

Ribeiro pulls guard.
Turman sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ribeiro's guard.
Ribeiro is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
Turman blocks Ribeiro's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Ribeiro is trying desperately to improve position.
Turman wants to control the pace but Ribeiro is squirming around nicely.

Turman is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Turman forces Ribeiro back against the cage and clinches.
Ribeiro is trying to force a seperation but Turman has the dominant position.
Turman misses with a knee to the head.
Turman tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ribeiro smiles and moves away.
Turman defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ribeiro.
Ribeiro is breathing heavily.

Turman pushes Ribeiro up against the cage in a clinch.
Ribeiro fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Turman fails to pull guard.
Turman lands a knee to the head.
Turman stalling in the clinch but Ribeiro improves position.
Ribeiro tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Turman throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Ribeiro blocks it with crossed arms.
Turman with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Ribeiro takes a knee right on the jaw!
Ribeiro lands with a left to the head.

Turman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Turman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ribeiro paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Turman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ribeiro as he jumps to the side.
Turman throws a head kick that Ribeiro semi-blocks.
Turman scores with a head kick.

Turman gets a clinch.
Turman jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ribeiro walks away with a smile on his face. Turman gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Turman connects with a knee to the head.
Turman tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Turman is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Turman has Ribeiro pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ribeiro manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Ribeiro is working for takedown but Turman is calmly controlling the position for now.
Ribeiro tries to pull guard but Turman holds him up against the cage and eventually Ribeiro drops back down to his feet.
Ribeiro goes for a takedown in the clinch but Turman prevents it.

Turman has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ribeiro uses from the top position.

Turman is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Ribeiro rolls with it to try and escape but Turman cranks on the arm and Ribeiro is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
