Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Justin Stephens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harold Buck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stephens comes into the arena with target=blank>Someday-Flipsyde blaring out of the sound system. Harold Buck will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Justin Stephens! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Harold Buck! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Stephens. No joy for Buck on that attempt. Buck shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Stephens drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stephens advances to mount. Stephens knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Buck on the ground. Stephens working away from the top, dropping strikes. Stephens thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Buck tries to hold on but Stephens postures up. Stephens is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Buck has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Buck tries to lock up and control but Stephens gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stephens is working for a guillotine from mount but Buck frees his head quite easily.
Buck is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stephens trying to control but he's not successful this time. Buck really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Buck defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Stephens. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Stephens cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Stephens wants to control the pace but Buck is squirming around nicely. Buck can't escape the position.
Buck is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Stephens is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Buck has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Buck tries to hold on but Stephens pushes him away. Stephens with shots to the head and body - Buck looks very uncomfortable down there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Stephens has control of Buck's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Buck regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Stephens is breathing heavily. Buck is desperately trying to improve his position but Stephens has a good base and remains in mount. Buck tries to lock up and control but Stephens gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Buck tries to get back to half guard but can't. Stephens is working for a guillotine from mount but Buck frees his head quite easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Buck tries to lock up and control but Stephens gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Buck bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Stephens is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Buck trying to control but Stephens is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Harold Buck. Buck shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Stephens counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Justin Stephens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Harold Buck. Buck looking for a guillotine here but Stephens defends easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stephens drops back looking for a leg! Buck is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Buck manages to kick Stephens off! Stephens jumps back into Buck's guard. Stephens throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Buck not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Stephens has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Buck to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Stephens is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Buck pulls down on the head and he's put Stephens to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Harold Buck!
