Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rio Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Claudio Flagg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flagg has chosen Scarsick as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rio Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Claudio Flagg! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, David Schapiro and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie fails with a takedown attempt. Some wild striking there from Flagg.
Flagg throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Gracie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Flagg swivels and escapes. A jab from Flagg does it's job there.
It looks like Rio Gracie has been cut. Gracie displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Flagg throws out the jab. Flagg throws a series of punches but Gracie moves out of range. Gracie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Flagg is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Gracie dives into side control.
Gracie working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Flagg pushes Gracie away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Gracie gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Gracie grinds an elbow into Flagg's temple. Flagg is trying to buck Gracie off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Flagg is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Gracie looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Flagg is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Gracie has just dragged him back down to the mat. Gracie working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Flagg is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Flagg can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Flagg really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Flagg is looking to get back to his feet here but Gracie is keeping cool and he's managed to take Flagg's back. Flagg trying to get back to his feet but Gracie is in full control for now. Gracie is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Flagg won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Gracie off his unconscious opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Rio Gracie!
