The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson gets caught flat footed, as Saotome shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Saotome slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Saotome drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Jackson dives on top into guard.
Saotome wants to control but Jackson passes easily into half guard.
Saotome wants to control but Jackson is keeping busy.
Saotome tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Jackson has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Saotome can't escape the position.

Saotome is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Jackson wants to control the pace but Saotome is squirming around nicely.
Jackson is really struggling to control Saotome but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Saotome is looking to get to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Saotome looks gassed!
Saotome is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Jackson looking to control but Saotome is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Saotome is in all sorts of trouble here.
Jackson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Saotome tries to hold on but Jackson postures up.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Quentin Jackson just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Jackson doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Saotome counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jackson won't be happy with that.

Saotome is looking to take a break and control but Jackson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Saotome goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Jackson has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Saotome but great work by Jackson.

Saotome seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Jackson is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
