Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Spiller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Spiller! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Harry Jones! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Roberts and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Spiller cracks Jones with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Jones shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Jones wants to clinch. Jones will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. David Spiller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Harry Jones. Spiller throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Jones on the side of the head. Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jones shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Spiller is trying to defend but Jones finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Spiller wants to get back to full guard. Spiller is working hard here to advance position. Jones looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Spiller trying to control from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jones's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Spiller is refusing to be controlled, as Jones sits in half guard. Jones looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Harry Jones. Jones moves forwards but Spiller connects with a nice, crisp jab. Jones shoots in but Spiller avoids the takedown attempt easily. A lazy left from Spiller finds it's target. Spiller throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jones. Spiller keeps the fight on the outside.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Jones shoots for a double leg takedown but Spiller sprawls well. He's pushed Jones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Jones looks gassed! Spiller defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jones. Harry Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Spiller goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Spiller moves into range and connects with a jab. Jones doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Spiller is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Spiller scores with a hook to the body. Jones takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Spiller connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Spiller throws a one two combo.
Spiller scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Jones gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Spiller thuds his right hand into Jones's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Jones takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Nice uppercut there from Spiller. Spiller lands a nice hook to Jones's body. Jones takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Spiller lands a jab. Spiller scores with a jab. Jones walks into a straight right hand from Spiller. Jones takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Spiller misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones on the wrong end of a nice hook. Spiller scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Spiller scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Jones is rocked! Jab by Spiller. Jones is still on wobbly legs! Can Spiller finish him? Spiller shoots in and bounces Jones off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Spiller showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Spiller has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jones is proving hard to escape from. Jones seems to have recovered his senses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones keeping full guard, as Spiller tries to pass. Jones working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Spiller. Spiller stays in close to Jones's body and controls the position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Spiller looking to pass the guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Spiller connects with a right hand. Jones shakes it off. Spiller circles away from the clinch attempt.

Jones fails with the takedown and Spiller counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Jones wants to clinch and Spiller counters with a nice body shot. Jones on the wrong end of a nice hook. Spiller wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. David Spiller is winning the standup battle so far. Spiller shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jones napping and manages to drive through into side control! Jones trying to remain calm as Spiller controls from the top position. Spiller tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. You can see the frustration on Jones's face as Spiller controls the position. Jones is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spiller stands up. Jones takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Harry Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jones tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Spiller cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Spiller lands a jab-cross combination. Jones shoots and misses and Spiller connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Spiller connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Spiller swinging wildly here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones darts in trying to clinch and Spiller counters with a straight right hand. Jones doesn't succeed with the takedown and Spiller counters with a stiff right hand. David Spiller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Harry Jones. Spiller scores with a jab to the jaw. Spiller lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Spiller scores with a jab to the jaw. Jones drops his hands momentarily and Spiller takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Spiller with a jab. That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Spiller thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Spiller is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Spiller wants to get back to his feet.

Jones misses with a takedown attempt and Spiller counters with a stiff right hand. Jones tries to clinch and Spiller counters with a left to the body. Jones misses with a takedown and Spiller decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jones's guard. Spiller trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Spiller tries to stand but Jones is controlling from the bottom. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spiller pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jones is keeping the position for now. Spiller is looking to stand up but Jones won't let him. Spiller trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Spiller throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease. Jones gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Jones controls Spiller momentarily but Spiller frees himself. Spiller trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jones's guard. Jones utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones looking to control.
Spiller wants to stand but Jones has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Spiller looking to sit in guard and control but Jones gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Spiller keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Jones shoots and misses and Spiller counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. David Spiller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Harry Jones. Spiller lands with a right hand. Jones takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Jones shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Spiller counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Spiller is looking to advance position but Jones won't allow it. David Spiller overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Spiller works his foot free and advances to mount. Spiller controlling the pace for now.
And that's the end of the fight! David Spiller showed his dominance in that final round. Well Spiller has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
