PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renato Everest (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Everest comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Pan Panamericano kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renato Everest!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Everest closes the distance and clinches up with Nelson, looking for a takedown. Everest pushes Nelson against the cage but Nelson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nelson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Everest.
Nelson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Everest is looking to clinch but Nelson is avoiding it.
Everest moves in looking to clinch but Nelson pushes him off.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Everest.
Frank Nelson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Renato Everest.
Nelson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Everest changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nelson tries to avoid it but Everest manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nelson to the ground. Nelson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Everest throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nelson's waist but Nelson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Everest off to one side.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Nelson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Nelson throws a combination. Everest tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Everest is staying active underneath Nelson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Nelson wants to stand up but Everest has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
