Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shane Elbe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Macapinlac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Elbe with that takedown attempt. Elbe is looking to clinch but Macapinlac is avoiding it.
Elbe closes the distance and clinches up with Macapinlac, looking for a takedown. Elbe pushes Macapinlac against the cage but Macapinlac circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Macapinlac circles away from the clinch attempt.
Elbe swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Elbe tries for a takedown but Macapinlac sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shane Elbe. That's going to take a lot out of him. Elbe shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Macapinlac but Macapinlac pushes him off and we're back to square one. Macapinlac looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Macapinlac thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Elbe's head. Macapinlac is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Elbe is just riding it out for now. Macapinlac eventually gives up the hold. Elbe won't allow Macapinlac to pass to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Macapinlac is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Elbe has managed to free his arm - good work. Elbe trying to control but Macapinlac postures up.
Elbe tries to roll over but Macapinlac keeps him under control. Elbe on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Elbe tries to get out of the position. Macapinlac wants to control but Elbe is keeping him busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Macapinlac is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Macapinlac wants to take a breather but Elbe is having none of it. Elbe wants to control but Macapinlac is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Elbe connects with a solid leg kick. Elbe tries to close the distance and clinch but Macapinlac swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Elbe misses with a few strikes there.

Macapinlac shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Elbe defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Macapinlac.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Elbe fails with a takedown attempt. Macapinlac closes the distance and clinches. Elbe tries to stall but Macapinlac uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Macapinlac pulls guard effortlessly. Macapinlac is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Elbe has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Macapinlac is proving hard to escape from. Elbe trying to control the position from guard on top but Macapinlac is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Macapinlac is trying to keep Elbe in close.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Macapinlac has a closed guard, preventing Elbe from standing up. Elbe is breathing heavily. Macapinlac wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Macapinlac is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Macapinlac looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Elbe defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Macapinlac. Elbe tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Macapinlac holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Macapinlac dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Elbe tries to grapple but his opponent circles so Macapinlac counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Macapinlac throws a big right hand that misses. Elbe tries to land a sweep but no joy. Macapinlac should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Elbe is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Macapinlac with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Macapinlac postures up and lands a big shot to Elbe's brow. Macapinlac stops Elbe from standing up. Macapinlac stands and steps away. Elbe gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Elbe defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Macapinlac. Macapinlac moves into the clinch. Elbe missing with knees to the body.
Macapinlac has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Elbe clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Macapinlac is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Elbe is tapping out! This one is all over!
