The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Petrov displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Santiago misses with a double jab.

Petrov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Santiago tries to avoid it but Petrov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Santiago to the ground. Santiago escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Santiago throws a lazy right hand but Petrov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Good exchange - Santiago coming out on top. Santiago is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Petrov. Santiago throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Petrov counters with a nice low kick that buckles Santiago's knee momentarily. Santiago avoids a punch combination nicely.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Petrov throws a front kick aimed at Santiago's knee but Santiago avoids it well.
