Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Duddy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Green!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duddy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Green tries to avoid it but Duddy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Green to the ground. Green escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Duddy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Green was well out of range. Poor timing from Duddy.
Green throws a quick inside leg kick.
Duddy dives in and grabs Green's left leg, looking for a takedown. Green pushes down on Duddy's head and hops out.
Duddy misses with a two punch combination.
Green swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Duddy counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Green blocking the ground and pound attempt from Duddy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Green wants to get back to full guard.

Duddy swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Green is now in Duddy's guard. A big mistake from Duddy there, giving up the dominant position!

Duddy wants to sweep but no luck.
Green looking to sit in guard and control but Duddy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Duddy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Duddy forces his way into half guard.
Green wants to get back to his feet.
Duddy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Green keeps working.
Green is trying to control but can't.
Green really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Duddy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Duddy shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Duddy is trying to drag Green to the mat but Green just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Duddy gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Duddy takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Green throws a hook to the side of Duddy's head but Duddy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The strikes coming from Duddy are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Green loads up on a big right hand but Duddy slips the punch.
Duddy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Green is fending him off so far but Duddy persists. Nope, Green circles away and we're back to standing.
Duddy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Green pinned against the cage. Green gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John Duddy.
Well Duddy has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
