Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and CHUCK LIDDELL (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shane Carwin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, CHUCK LIDDELL! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! LIDDELL shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Poor strikes thrown by LIDDELL there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Carwin blocking the ground and pound. Carwin defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from LIDDELL. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. LIDDELL throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Carwin is breathing heavily. LIDDELL looking to ground and pound but Carwin is blocking nicely. LIDDELL lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
LIDDELL punching from mount but Carwin doing a good job of avoiding damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. LIDDELL goes for an armbar but Carwin turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Carwin.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carwin stopping the sweep attempt from LIDDELL. Carwin thows a big elbow that misses. LIDDELL wriggles free and stands up. Carwin fails with a takedown attempt. LIDDELL shoots in but no luck this time. Carwin tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. LIDDELL misses with a head kick.
LIDDELL fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Carwin sprawls well initially but LIDDELL persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Carwin wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Carwin blocking the ground and pound attempt from LIDDELL. LIDDELL throwing shots but Carwin is blocking nicely. LIDDELL sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Carwin defending well though. LIDDELL thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Carwin's head. Carwin is not content to let LIDDELL control the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Carwin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
The fight stays on the outside here - LIDDELL looks like he's thinking about clinching though. LIDDELL throws a combination that misses and Carwin counters with a lovely straight right hand! Carwin takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. LIDDELL moves out of range as Carwin strikes. Carwin swats away the attempt to clinch by LIDDELL. The fight moves into the clinch position. LIDDELL successfully pulls guard.
Carwin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Carwin stopping the sweep attempt from LIDDELL. LIDDELL wants to stand and escape but Carwin is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. LIDDELL trying to control the position.
Carwin with a nice head shot there. LIDDELL tries to land a sweep but no joy. LIDDELL is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Carwin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. LIDDELL throws a right and a left that Carwin avoids nicely. Carwin throws a wild combination but nothing lands. LIDDELL pulls out of a head kick attempt.
LIDDELL displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. A swing and a miss from Carwin. Carwin keeps the fight on the outside. LIDDELL misses with a wild body shot. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
CHUCK LIDDELL dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Carwin throws the kick towards the body but LIDDELL avoids it. Carwin fails in his attempt to clinch. LIDDELL shoots in but no luck this time. LIDDELL throws a head kick that misses. Carwin slaps away a takedown attempt from LIDDELL, before circling back to the center of the mat. LIDDELL is looking to clinch. LIDDELL misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
LIDDELL takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
LIDDELL tries to clinch there but Carwin circles away.
LIDDELL dives in and grabs Carwin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Carwin pushes down on LIDDELL's head and hops out. Shane Carwin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of CHUCK LIDDELL. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A cross from Carwin lands. LIDDELL cracks the inside of Carwin's front leg. Carwin misses with a looping left. Carwin takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. LIDDELL tries to keep at a distance but Carwin has taken the fight into the clinch. Carwin breaks from the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. LIDDELL shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Carwin as he jumps to the side. LIDDELL wants to clinch. Carwin fails with the takedown and LIDDELL decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Carwin's guard. Carwin keeping full guard, as LIDDELL tries to pass. LIDDELL throwing strikes but missing. LIDDELL wants to control from the top but Carwin keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. LIDDELL throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. LIDDELL postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Carwin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of LIDDELL, into his guard. Carwin working some strikes from top position. LIDDELL trying to strike off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Carwin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Carwin chips away with some ground and pound. Carwin is working LIDDELL over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. LIDDELL throws a body kick that misses. LIDDELL will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Shane Carwin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Carwin lands with an overhand left. LIDDELL blocks a jab. LIDDELL misses with a takedown attempt and Carwin counters with a nice uppercut. LIDDELL takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
LIDDELL swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Carwin misses with a leg kick and LIDDELL counters with an outside leg kick.
Carwin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
LIDDELL takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Carwin is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. A punch combination from Carwin misses. LIDDELL fails with the takedown and Carwin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. LIDDELL lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Carwin circles away quickly and effectively. Carwin throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. LIDDELL misses with a takedown and Carwin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. LIDDELL shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Carwin sprawls well. Carwin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. LIDDELL gets slowly back to his feet. Carwin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but LIDDELL moves away. Carwin connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. LIDDELL takes the fight into the clinch. Carwin looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. LIDDELL pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Carwin takes a knee right on the jaw!

LIDDELL won't let Carwin get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Shane Carwin will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Carwin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
LIDDELL lands a jab-cross combination. Decent striking displayed by LIDDELL there. Shane Carwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. LIDDELL scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Carwin prevents LIDDELL from moving into mount. LIDDELL working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Carwin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. LIDDELL tries to score with some ground and pound. Carwin controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. LIDDELL wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carwin keeps working. LIDDELL goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Carwin has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for LIDDELL but great work by Carwin. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. LIDDELL gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. LIDDELL manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Carwin throws a strike but LIDDELL rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. LIDDELL trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Carwin pushes LIDDELL off and gets back to his feet.
Carwin loads up on a big right hand but LIDDELL slips the punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. LIDDELL tries to clinch up but Carwin circles away and keeps his distance. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from LIDDELL. No luck for LIDDELL with that takedown attempt. Carwin lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as LIDDELL backs up against the cage.
Carwin fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but LIDDELL is out of range. LIDDELL lands a nice looking body shot.
Carwin scores with a jab. LIDDELL acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Carwin takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Carwin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts LIDDELL as he jumps to the side. LIDDELL blocks a jab. Carwin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. LIDDELL slips under a jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. LIDDELL tries to clinch but Carwin moves out of range. Carwin leaves LIDDELL with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Shane Carwin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of CHUCK LIDDELL. LIDDELL gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Carwin counters with a nice uppercut. LIDDELL shoots in looking for a takedown. Carwin tries to sprawl out of it but LIDDELL keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carwin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Carwin pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Carwin misses with a straight right. LIDDELL ducks under a wild hook from Carwin. A solid leg kick lands there for LIDDELL.
A lazy left from Carwin finds it's target. Carwin takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Carwin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but LIDDELL manages to avoid it. LIDDELL feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Carwin's calf. Carwin darts in trying to clinch and LIDDELL counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
That's four minutes gone in the round. LIDDELL breaks from the clinch.
Carwin misses with a looping left. Carwin pushing out the jab but it's not landing. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as LIDDELL checks a leg kick. Carwin circles away from the clinch attempt.
LIDDELL takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Carwin misses with the combination.
LIDDELL with a poor takedown and Carwin counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for LIDDELL! Carwin with shots to the head and body - LIDDELL looks very uncomfortable down there. LIDDELL wants to hold on but Carwin pushes him away. Carwin lands a heavy elbow. Carwin with good strikes from the mount here! LIDDELL tries to lock up and control but Carwin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. LIDDELL is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Shane Carwin. I think Carwin has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
