Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pit Jonson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dexter Ransom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ransom has chosen fight fire with fire - metallica as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jonson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ransom tries to avoid it but Jonson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ransom to the ground. Ransom escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jonson slips under a jab.
Ransom lands a really nice looking cross but Jonson seems unphased.
Jonson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jonson showed some decent athleticism there.
Ransom is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jonson in particular looking to stall.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ransom can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters circle momentarily. Ransom darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Jonson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ransom was covering up waiting for the punch and Jonson finishes the takedown easily into guard.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Jonson here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
