Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Romper McFlannigan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and cucu curu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). cucu curu is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Romper McFlannigan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, cucu curu! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Aafke Stam and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick from McFlannigan lands but curu takes it in his stride.
It looks like cucu curu has been cut. curu looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! McFlannigan throws a sloppy head kick and curu moves out of range easily. McFlannigan misses with a wild combination.
McFlannigan misses with a few strikes there.
McFlannigan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. McFlannigan wants to control from the top but curu keeps moving. McFlannigan seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. McFlannigan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. McFlannigan wants to get up but he can't break curu's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. McFlannigan postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. McFlannigan trying to control the position from guard on top but curu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McFlannigan stands up and waves to curu to follow him.

McFlannigan ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. McFlannigan no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. curu preventing the sweep. McFlannigan looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. McFlannigan throws a couple of heel strikes.
curu prevents McFlannigan from getting back to his feet. McFlannigan looking for a sweep. Not yet McFlannigan, not yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McFlannigan trying to control the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. McFlannigan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McFlannigan controlling the pace. McFlannigan blocks the strikes from curu.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McFlannigan wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. McFlannigan slows the pace down in half guard. McFlannigan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. curu doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time McFlannigan.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. McFlannigan decides to stand and escape the position. curu has his takedown stuffed and McFlannigan counters by clinching up. McFlannigan scores with a nice hook to the head. McFlannigan jumps guard.
McFlannigan keeping moving, preventing curu from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Romper McFlannigan dominated that round. The cut man is working on cucu curu's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
McFlannigan throws a series of punches but curu moves out of range. McFlannigan has taken the fight to the clinch.
curu is looking for a takedown up against the cage. McFlannigan gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. McFlannigan leaning against his opponent.
McFlannigan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. McFlannigan clinches up with curu and pushes him back against the cage. McFlannigan pulls curu into guard.
McFlannigan has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes curu off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. McFlannigan lands a jab-cross combination. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. curu circles away from the clinch attempt.
McFlannigan shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
That's one minute gone in the round. McFlannigan seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. McFlannigan decides to stand up. McFlannigan tries to close the distance and clinch up but curu swats him away and circles back towards the center. McFlannigan fails with an attempt to clinch.
McFlannigan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. curu looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for McFlannigan!
That's two minutes gone in the round. McFlannigan wants to control but curu is having none of it. curu trying to control but McFlannigan is having none of it. McFlannigan is working to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. curu thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. McFlannigan is desperately trying to improve his position but curu has a good base and remains in mount. curu with the ground and pound from mount. McFlannigan sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. McFlannigan actively working from the bottom here. curu wants to advance to full mount but McFlannigan doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. curu postures up in McFlannigan's guard and throws a big left but McFlannigan blocks it. McFlannigan working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from curu. curu stops McFlannigan from standing up. curu drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and curu jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. McFlannigan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. curu scoring with punches to the head and body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Romper McFlannigan dominated that second round. The cut man is working on cucu curu's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
McFlannigan moves into the clinch. McFlannigan working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. McFlannigan breaks from the clinch.
McFlannigan misses with a takedown attempt and curu counters by clinching up. McFlannigan tries for a takedown but curu manages to get underhooks.

McFlannigan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. curu sprawls well initially but McFlannigan persists and gets the takedown into half guard. curu wants to get back to full guard. McFlannigan is looking for a kimura but curu is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McFlannigan to get the leverage. curu moves into full guard.
curu manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McFlannigan manages to get himself to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. curu with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Both fighters are breathing heavily. McFlannigan wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and curu is now in half guard. curu wants to lay and pray for a moment but McFlannigan keeps working. McFlannigan is looking to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. McFlannigan scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but curu manages to mount him!
curu landing strikes from the mount and McFlannigan is in trouble! curu can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as McFlannigan is looking to escape. McFlannigan wants to hold on but curu pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McFlannigan is wriggling around trying to escape.
McFlannigan is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. McFlannigan regains half guard. curu is thwarting McFlannigan's attempts to control the position. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with curu in particular looking to stall. curu trying to control from half guard but McFlannigan is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. curu blocks the strikes from McFlannigan.

cucu curu has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Romper McFlannigan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. McFlannigan is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because curu is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Romper McFlannigan. Well McFlannigan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
