Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gene White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Karen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). White has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gene White!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Martin Karen!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
White will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A punch combination from Karen misses.
Karen shoots in and drives through. White sprawls well.
Karen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts White as he jumps to the side.
White swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Karen counters with a solid body kick.
White is breathing heavily.
Karen has a takedown stuffed.
Gene White has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Martin Karen.
White connects with a nice looking jab.
Karen is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
White fails to land with a series of punches.
White misses with a combination
and Karen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in White's guard.
Karen trying to control the position from guard on top but White is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Karen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. White swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Karen missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
White might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
White wants to sweep but no luck.
White is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
White lands a two punch combo.
Karen on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Karen closes this distance looking for a takedown but White circles away.
White with a hook.
Karen tries for a takedown but White sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Karen dodges the punch combination from White.
White fails to land with a series of punches.
Horrible takedown by Karen or perhaps it was just good defense by White which made him look bad.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
White throws a left and a right that both miss
and Karen counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for White!
White is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Karen is working for a guillotine from mount but White frees his head quite easily.
White is trying desperately to improve position.
White defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Karen.
White tries to improve his position but instead Karen has taken his back!
Karen has White flattened out and is raining down punches.
White is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Karen is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Karen gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Karen gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Karen apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Oh White is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Karen fails with the takedown.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Karen! White is out on his feet! Karen rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - White is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! White is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Martin Karen!
