PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cooper Anderson III (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson III's entrance music is Evolution by Korn. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson III misses with a series of wild punches.

Anderson III rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tyson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Tyson gets a takedown into half guard.
Tyson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Anderson III knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Anderson III tries to kick Tyson off but Tyson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Let's hope that Tyson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Tyson uses his free foot to push down on Anderson III's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Anderson III.

Tyson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Anderson III's guard.
Tyson is looking to work some ground and pound but Anderson III has wrist control.
Tyson wants to control from the top but Anderson III keeps moving.
Tyson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Tyson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Anderson III pinned against the cage. Anderson III gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tyson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Tyson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Anderson III swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Anderson III has hold of Tyson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Tyson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tyson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Anderson III jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Tyson is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Tyson and Anderson III has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
