Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shane Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mason might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Senses Fail - Shark Attack. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shane Mason! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Yuri Silver! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mason tries to bum rush Silver with a series of wild strikes but Silver uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Mason lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
A head kick misses from Mason. Mason moves into the clinch. Silver pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Silver shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mason wants to improve his position but Silver is controlling well.
Silver is working for a kimura but Mason is defending it quite comfortably.
Silver thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mason looks like he's trying to stand up.
Mason gets full guard. Silver postures up in Mason's guard and throws a big left but Mason blocks it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Silver looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Mason! Mason is breathing heavily. Mason defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Silver. Mason knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silver on the ground. Silver controlling from the full mount. Silver trying to control but Mason is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Mason is trying to stand up. Silver looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Silver takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Silver with the ground and pound from mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Silver putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Silver misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Mason is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Silver trying to control but he's not successful this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yuri Silver dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Silver tries to clinch up. Silver will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Silver keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mason fails to land the takedown. Shane Mason seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mason clinches. Silver escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mason, as that shot connected.
Silver gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Mason counters with a nice double leg into guard. Mason has gone for a leg lock! Silver slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mason's guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Silver connects with a couple of short punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silver gets to his feet. Mason looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Mason with a poor takedown and Silver counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mason won't be happy with that. Mason is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Mason tries to buck Silver off but Silver is having none of it. Silver thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Silver is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mason is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silver trying to control the action but Mason is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mason is trying to buck Silver off.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. A big left from Mason misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Mason lands a nice shot to the body.
Silver stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Silver wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shane Mason. That's going to take a lot out of him. Silver closes the distance and clinches up with Mason, looking for a takedown. Silver pushes Mason against the cage but Mason circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Shane Mason is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mason is looking to take this fight into the clinch. The fight moves into the clinch position. Silver breaks the clinch.
Silver fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Mason fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Silver, pushing him back against the cage. Mason wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Silver has him pressed against the cage. Mason is trying to break free. Mason is trying to break free. Mason pushes Silver back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Silver breaks the clinch.
Mason moves in looking to clinch but Silver pushes him off. Silver fails with a takedown attempt from distance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Shane Mason will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Silver will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Silver shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mason as he jumps to the side. Mason tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Silver counters with a shoot takedown. Mason fights it but they end up in guard. Silver looking to pass the guard. Silver wants to stand but Mason has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Mason is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Mason keeping full guard, as Silver tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silver trying to control the position from guard on top but Mason is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mason doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Mason wants to stand and escape but Silver is having none of it. Mason manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Silver manages to get himself to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Silver not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mason postures up in Silver's guard and throws a big left but Silver blocks it. Silver keeping full guard, as Mason tries to pass. Silver wants to sweep but no luck.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silver controls Mason momentarily but Mason frees himself. Silver looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Mason passes into half guard.
Mason prevents Silver from improving his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Mason closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Mason breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Silver lands a nice looking body kick. Mason shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mason showed some decent athleticism there. Mason is thwarting Silver's attempts to control the position.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Shane Mason. I think Mason has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
