Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kirk Dillard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Ramos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramos has chosen I've Been Down as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carl Ramos!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dillard takes one to the side of the head.
Ramos throws a hook to the side of Dillard's head but Dillard sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Dillard shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ramos pinned against the cage. Ramos gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ramos swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dillard tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ramos swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ramos throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Ramos throws an overhand right that lands on Dillard's shoulder, as Dillard tries to avoid the shot.
Dillard doesn't manage to clinch there - Ramos circles away.

Dillard changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ramos tries to avoid it but Dillard manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ramos to the ground. Ramos escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ramos's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A punch lands to the side of Dillard 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Ramos tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dillard was well out of range. Poor timing from Ramos.
Nice uppercut lands for Ramos. That snapped Dillard's head back.
Ramos lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dillard circles away quickly and effectively.

Dillard is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Ramos seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Dillard wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ramos has him pressed against the cage.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Dillard creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Dillard. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
