Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Haskon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Silvas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wanderlei Silvas is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Haskon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Wanderlei Silvas! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Dmitry Maklakov and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silvas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Haskon feints and as Silvas raises his hands in defense, Haskon changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Haskon slips nicely into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Haskon in particular looking to stall. Haskon prevents Silvas from standing back up.
Haskon postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Silvas to stand up. Haskon shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Haskon was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Haskon manages to capitalize on a mistake by Silvas to take his back! Silvas should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Haskon just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

That's one minute gone in the round. Haskon is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Silvas is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Haskon connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Silvas to escape the position.
Silvas is trying to stand back up. Haskon looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Silvas is controlling Haskon 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard. Haskon is controlling Silvas's posture. Haskon keeping full guard, as Silvas tries to pass.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Silvas being controlled here momentarily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Silvas has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Haskon is proving hard to escape from. Silvas trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Haskon pulls Silvas in close to prevent any damage. Haskon has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Silvas off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Haskon clinches with his opponent.
Silvas has had enough of the clinch but Haskon keeps him there for the moment. Haskon turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silvas is not content to let Haskon control the position. Haskon is breathing heavily. Haskon lands a few punches from side control. Silvas is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Haskon is controlling him well. Haskon slows the pace down. Silvas manages to work his way to half guard, despite Haskon's best efforts. Haskon blocks the strikes from Silvas.
Silvas is looking to escape. Haskon missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Silvas punching from the bottom.
Haskon stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silvas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Haskon avoids the head kick by Silvas.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Silvas crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Haskon - the referee stops the clock and Silvas gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Haskon. Silvas manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Haskon throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Silvas was covering up waiting for the punch and Haskon finishes the takedown easily into guard. Silvas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Haskon doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Haskon manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Silvas is looking to stand up but Haskon isn't so interested in that idea. Silvas is working an open guard so Haskon takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Silvas gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Haskon to score an easy takedown into full guard. Silvas is looking to stand back up but Haskon counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Silvas. Silvas keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Haskon with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Silvas is trying to stand.
Haskon stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Silvas to get to his feet. Haskon gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Silvas is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Haskon effectively controlling the action here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silvas tries to pull guard but Haskon holds him up against the cage and eventually Silvas drops back down to his feet.

Silvas throws a big right hand that misses. Haskon keeping moving, preventing Silvas from controlling successfully. Silvas missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Haskon pulls Silvas in close to his closed guard and prevents Silvas from doing any damage or advancing position. Haskon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Silvas gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Silvas has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Haskon is proving hard to escape from.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Silvas misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Haskon looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Silvas wants to get back to his feet. Haskon looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Haskon prevents Silvas from standing back up.
Haskon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Haskon working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Silvas pushes Haskon off looking to stand but Haskon dives back in and keeps control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Haskon is working Silvas over with some ground and pound from side control. Silvas pushes Haskon away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Haskon gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Haskon working the head and body with strikes. Haskon prevents Silvas from escaping the position. Haskon working the ground and pound. Silvas is trying to buck Haskon off.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Haskon plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! A head kick by Silvas misses and Haskon counters with a takedown into side control. Silvas tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Haskon presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vladimir Haskon dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Silvas got a little sloppy there for a moment and Haskon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Silvas has managed to get both his arms back between Haskon's legs - danger averted. Silvas trying to stand up but can't free himself from Haskon's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Silvas drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silvas jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Silvas bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Silvas misses with a shot to the body and Haskon counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Haskon postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Silvas to stand up. Silvas tries a head kick but it misses.

Haskon is thwarting Silvas's attempts to control the position. Haskon passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Silvas! Haskon is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Silvas can do to turn this around? The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Silvas is looking to get to half guard. Silvas is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Silvas is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Haskon has taken his back!

Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
