Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jan Nowak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vhay Phudido (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jan Nowak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vhay Phudido!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Paulo Santos and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Nowak. Phudido does a little dance to reset his feet.
Nowak looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Phudido blocks a head kick by Nowak.

Phudido shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Nowak tries to hold on but Phudido pushes him away.

Phudido is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Nowak has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Nowak!

Phudido throws his legs up looking for a submission but Nowak uses it to pass to side control.
Phudido tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Nowak wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Phudido wants to get back to his feet.
Phudido on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Nowak wants to lay and pray for a moment but Phudido keeps working.
Phudido is looking for a sweep.

Phudido is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Nowak seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Phudido does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Phudido has one foot on Nowak's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Nowak misses with a takedown

so Phudido counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Phudido has gone for a leg lock! Nowak slips out almost immediately though and dives into Phudido's guard.
Nowak controlling from the top position.
Nowak postures up and lands a big shot to Phudido's brow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Phudido keeping moving, preventing Nowak from controlling successfully.

Phudido looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Nowak trying to control but Phudido is working from the bottom.
Nowak has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Nowak controls from within his opponent's guard.

Phudido working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nowak doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nowak manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Phudido has a closed guard, preventing Nowak from standing up.

Nowak wants to pass the guard but Phudido is keeping the position.
Nowak passes Phudido's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Phudido wants to improve his position but Nowak is controlling well.

Nowak working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Phudido is not content to let Nowak control the position.
Phudido pushes Nowak off looking to stand but Nowak dives back in and keeps control.

Nowak decides to stand up.
Nowak shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Phudido counters with a takedown into side control.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jan Nowak. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nowak is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Phudido tries for a kimura but Nowak is defending well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Phudido swings around for an armbar but Nowak sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Phudido's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vhay Phudido dominated that round.
That's time! Nowak's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Nowak throws a head kick that misses.
Nowak thows a body shot but no joy.
Nowak gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Phudido counters with a nice double leg into side control. Nowak won't be happy with that.

Phudido is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Nowak is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Phudido is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Nowak has escaped the position, nice work there.

Phudido tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nowak tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Phudido wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Nowak gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Nowak works his way to full guard. Good work.
Nowak trying to keep a closed guard but Phudido is proving a slippery customer.

Phudido is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Phudido drops back, looking for a kneebar! Nowak looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Nowak looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Nowak!
Nowak wants to lay and pray for a moment but Phudido keeps working.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Phudido wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Phudido is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Nowak decides to stand back up. Nowak steps back and let's Phudido get back to his feet.

Phudido closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Phudido wants to work for an arm triangle but Nowak is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Nowak actively working from the bottom here.

Phudido is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Phudido is trying for a kimura here. Nowak looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Phudido wins by kimura!
