Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roland Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Naolo Chin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roland Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Naolo Chin! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Bruno Lombardi and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Smith wants to work for an arm triangle but Chin is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Chin wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smith is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chin pushes Smith off looking to stand but Smith dives back in and keeps control.
Smith content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Smith has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Smith passes to full mount!

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Chin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Smith looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Smith looking for a sweep. Chin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Smith. Smith misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Horrible takedown by Chin or perhaps it was just good defense by Smith which made him look bad. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smith has his takedown stuffed and Chin counters with a shoot takedown. Smith fights it but they end up in guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roland Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
