Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between D C Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kick Ass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson comes to the cage accompanied by Real American. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, D C Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kick Ass!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ass has a takedown stuffed.
Ass fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jackson manages to avoid it.
Ass thows a left - swing and a miss!
Ass shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jackson as he avoids it easily.
Ass will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
D C Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kick Ass.
Ass looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jackson stuffs the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson throws an overhand right that lands on Ass's shoulder, as Ass tries to avoid the shot.
Ass will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Jackson closes the distance and clinches.
Jackson misses with a short punch on the inside.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Jackson just leaning against Ass, taking a breather.
Jackson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Jackson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ass pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Jackson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Ass tries to pull guard but Jackson holds him up against the cage and eventually Ass drops back down to his feet.
Ass jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jackson walks away with a smile on his face. Ass gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ass tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jackson swivels and escapes.

Ass fails to land the takedown.
Ass doesn't manage to clinch there - Jackson circles away.
Ass shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jackson pinned against the cage. Jackson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Nice takedown defense from Jackson. No joy for Ass on that attempt.
Ass looks gassed!
Ass throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Ass shoots in and drives through. Jackson sprawls well.

Ass wants to clinch but Jackson slips to the side

and Jackson counters with a shoot takedown. Ass fights it but they end up in guard.

Jackson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ass is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jackson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Ass is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jackson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Jackson tries to clinch up but Ass circles away and keeps his distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ass looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Jackson gets a takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ass tries for a takedown but Jackson circles away easily

and Jackson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ass's guard now.
Jackson stands and throws Ass's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Jackson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ass is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Jackson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jackson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Jackson is looking to take a break and control but Ass is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ass is looking for a sweep.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jackson wants to control but Ass is keeping him busy.
Ass tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jackson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Ass steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jackson.
A head kick by Ass misses

and Jackson counters with a shoot takedown. Ass fights it but they end up in guard.

Jackson stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Ass throws a one two combo.
Ass gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Jackson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jackson.
D C Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kick Ass.
Ass is breathing heavily.
Ass content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Ass looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Jackson tries to pull guard but Ass holds him up against the cage and eventually Jackson drops back down to his feet.
Ass prevents the takedown attempt.

Jackson decides to pull guard.
Jackson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ass manages to get himself to full guard.

Jackson works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Ass trying to hold on to Jackson's head to control him but Jackson postures up.
Ass really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jackson gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ass is trying to buck Jackson off.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A slow jab from Jackson misses its intended target.
Ass tries to clinch but Jackson moves away

and Jackson counters with a single leg into guard. Ass didn't expect that.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jackson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jackson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Ass wants to get back to his feet but Jackson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

and Jackson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ass won't be happy with that.
Jackson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ass keeps working.

D C Jackson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

You can see the frustration on Ass's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Jackson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ass can do to turn this around?

Ass is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Jackson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
