Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Mir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Camozzi! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Camozzi tries to clinch up but Mir circles away and keeps his distance. Camozzi has taken the fight to the clinch.
Mir escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Camozzi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mir circles away quickly and effectively. Camozzi connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Mir moves into range and clinches up with Camozzi. Mir breaks the clinch.
Mir shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Camozzi but Camozzi pushes him off and we're back to square one. Mir misses with a takedown attempt - Camozzi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Mir throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A slow jab from Camozzi misses its intended target. Camozzi throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Mir slips a jab and a cross from Camozzi.
Camozzi tries a head kick but it misses.
Camozzi throws a right and a left that both miss. Mir fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Camozzi wants to get back to his feet.

Mir wants to pass to mount but Camozzi is defending the position. Camozzi wants to sweep but Mir has passed to side control! You can see the frustration on Camozzi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Camozzi reaches up around Mir's neck trying to control. But Mir takes advantage instantly and he's locked on an arm triangle! Big trouble for Camozzi! Oh that looks nasty! A human being's head is not meant to turn that color! Camozzi is out! He's gone limp! The ref steps in to break the fighters up and Mir celebrates the victory with the fans!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Frank Mir!
