Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacek Piotrowski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carl Sawyer! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Piotrowski shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Sawyer looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Piotrowski tries to pass to full mount but Sawyer defends it. Still in half guard, Piotrowski seems content to control. Piotrowski tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sawyer knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Piotrowski works his foot free and advances to mount. Piotrowski lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Piotrowski lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Sawyer hang on?
That's one minute gone in the round. Piotrowski controlling the position easily from mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Piotrowski has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Piotrowski seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sawyer for as long as he can get away with.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Jacek Piotrowski just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Excellent takedown into side control there by Piotrowski. Piotrowski is staying tight to Sawyer's torso, preventing him from escaping.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jacek Piotrowski dominated that round. That's time! Piotrowski's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Sawyer gets caught flat footed, as Piotrowski shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jacek Piotrowski. Piotrowski closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. A lull in the action here. Piotrowski's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jacek Piotrowski. Piotrowski scores with a takedown into Sawyer's guard. Sawyer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Piotrowski controls the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Piotrowski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sawyer swivels though and keeps the full guard. Piotrowski is pushing down on Sawyer's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sawyer is fighting to maintain full guard but Piotrowski has managed to sneak the leg through. Piotrowski wants to pass the guard but Sawyer is defending well. Piotrowski controlling the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jacek Piotrowski overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Piotrowski uses his free foot to push down on Sawyer's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sawyer. Piotrowski controlling the pace for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Piotrowski lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Sawyer hang on? Piotrowski controlling from the full mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Piotrowski feints and as Sawyer raises his hands in defense, Piotrowski changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Piotrowski looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Piotrowski passes into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Piotrowski sitting and controlling from the half guard. Sawyer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Sawyer is looking to get back to is feet but Piotrowski passes into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jacek Piotrowski. Sawyer gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Piotrowski might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Piotrowski is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Piotrowski trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Piotrowski is stalling in the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Piotrowski slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Piotrowski controls the position from side control.

And that's the end of the fight! Jacek Piotrowski showed his dominance in that final round. Well Piotrowski has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
