Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jon Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jon Silver has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jon Silver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tony Franklin!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Hirohito Nitta and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silver misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Franklin lands a head kick that stumbles Silver and the fighters go to the mat.


Silver is rocked!
Franklin is stalling in the full guard.
Oh Silver is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Silver is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Silver seems to have got his legs back now.
Franklin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Silver works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Silver has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Franklin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Silver is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Silver is breathing heavily.
Franklin controlling from the top position.

Franklin trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Franklin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Silver fails with the takedown.
Franklin has his takedown stuffed

and Silver counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Franklin!
Franklin is desperately trying to improve his position but Silver has a good base and remains in mount.
Silver wants to control the pace but Franklin is squirming around nicely.
Franklin bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Franklin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Silver is proving hard to escape from.

Silver looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Franklin puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Silver wants to get back to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silver is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Franklin's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Franklin's back!

Silver is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Franklin defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Franklin looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Will Silver go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Franklin rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Silver wants to control from the top but Franklin keeps moving.
Franklin pulls Silver in close to his closed guard and prevents Silver from doing any damage or advancing position.

Silver gets to his feet - Franklin follows without any prompting.

Franklin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Silver wants to control from the top but Franklin keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jon Silver will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Silver shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Franklin counters with a left and a right that stings Silver.
Silver gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Franklin.
Silver gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Silver takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and Silver decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Franklin's guard.

Franklin wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Silver is now in half guard.

Silver is working for a submission of some sort.

Silver is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Franklin has managed to free his arm - good work.
Silver is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Silver wants to get back to his feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Silver is looking to take a break and control but Franklin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Franklin throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Silver gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Franklin gets to his feet. Silver looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Silver looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Franklin!

Silver swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Franklin is now in Silver's guard. A big mistake from Silver there, giving up the dominant position!
Franklin throws a big right hand that misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Franklin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Franklin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Franklin controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Silver keeping moving, preventing Franklin from controlling successfully.

Franklin stands up and waves to Silver to follow him.
Jon Silver is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Franklin misses with a takedown

and Silver decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Franklin's guard.
Silver wanted to stand there but Franklin had control of the position.
Jon Silver overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Franklin controls Silver momentarily but Silver frees himself.

Silver missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Silver is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Franklin has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Franklin!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jon Silver will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

and Franklin counters by clinching up.

Silver wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Franklin has him pressed against the cage.

Franklin has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Silver uses from the top position.

Franklin looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Silver is defending well. Franklin quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Silver has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Franklin celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
