Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maximus Rising (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Rivero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Maximus Rising! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Rivero! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Rivero. No joy for Rising on that attempt. Rivero scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Maximus Rising has been cut. John Rivero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rivero lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rising circles away quickly and effectively. Rivero fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rivero connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. This has been an exciting period of action! Rivero moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Rising drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. A combination from Rivero does no damage. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Rivero throws a right and a left that Rising avoids nicely. Rising scores with a takedown into Rivero's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rivero wants to stand but Rising is controlling the position. Rising drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rising jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rising drops back looking for a leg! Rivero is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rivero manages to kick Rising off! Rising jumps back into Rivero's guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Rivero will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rising shoots in looking for a takedown. Rivero tries to sprawl out of it but Rising keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rivero manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. John Rivero is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Rivero misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rising throws a head kick but Rivero moves out of range.
Rivero throws a right hand that Rising ducks under and follows up with a left that Rising also avoids with ease. Rising feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Rising prevents Rivero from getting back to his feet. Rising drops back looking for a leg! Rivero is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rivero manages to kick Rising off! Rising jumps back into Rivero's guard. Rising throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rivero works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rising prevents Rivero from getting back to his feet. Rivero looks gassed! Rising with a nice head shot there. Rising prevents Rivero from getting back to his feet. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Rising drops back looking for a leg! Rivero is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rivero manages to kick Rising off! Rising jumps back into Rivero's guard. Rising wants to control from the top but Rivero keeps moving. Rivero uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Rivero looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Rising fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maximus Rising. That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Rising shoots for a double leg takedown but Rivero sprawls well. He's pushed Rising's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Rising takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Rivero throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rising. Rising fails with the takedown. Rising will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A punch combination from Rivero misses. Rivero looks to land a combination but Rising avoids it well. Rivero tries to bum rush Rising with a series of wild strikes but Rising uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Rising shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rivero pinned against the cage. Rivero gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Rivero misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rising fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rivero sprawls well initially but Rising persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Rising is pressing down on Rivero's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rivero is holding on for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rivero is looking to get back to is feet but Rising passes into side control.
Rivero pushes Rising away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Rising gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Rising is trying to get an arm triangle but Rivero is defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Rivero dominated that round. The cut man is working on Maximus Rising's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Nice. Rivero wants to get back to his feet but Rising drags him back down. Rising is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rivero is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Rising is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Rivero knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Rising moves into full mount! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rising looking to secure an arm triangle but Rivero defends it well. Rivero is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rising has hold of Rivero's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Rivero manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Rising is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Rivero is surviving well by controlling Rising's body position as best he can. Rising looking to secure an arm triangle but Rivero defends it well. Rising won't let Rivero get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Rivero is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Rising has hold of Rivero's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Rivero manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Rising fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Rivero's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Rising is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Rivero is forced to tap! Great finish!
