Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stan Jonathan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fighter comes to the cage accompanied by RENEGADE MASTER. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steve Fighter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stan Jonathan!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jonathan tries to close the distance and clinch but Fighter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jonathan moves in looking to clinch but Fighter pushes him off.
Jonathan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fighter paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jonathan throws a right and a left that both miss.
The fighters circling - Jonathan throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Jonathan blocks a head kick by Fighter.
Fighter circles away from the clinch attempt.
Fighter swats away the attempt to clinch by Jonathan.
Fighter swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jonathan takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Fighter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jonathan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fighter shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Fighter throws a body punch but Jonathan moves out of range.

Jonathan pushes Fighter up against the cage in a clinch.

Jonathan connects with a knee to the head.


It looks like Steve Fighter has been cut.
Jonathan takes a shot to the head.
Jonathan blocking some punches.
Fighter jumps guard but Jonathan stands there with Fighter around his waist. Fighter gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Fighter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jonathan prevents a body shot from Fighter.

Fighter tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jonathan just stands there and leans against the cage.
Fighter drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Jonathan gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Jonathan throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Jonathan.
Jonathan blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Jonathan's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Jonathan obliges.
Fighter trying to stall but Jonathan improves his position.

Fighter lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Jonathan misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Fighter.
Come on Jonathan - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Jonathan throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Fighter blocks it with crossed arms.

Fighter trying to stall but Jonathan improves his position.
Nice body punch from Fighter.
Fighter goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Fighter.
Jonathan lands an elbow just above Fighter 's eye.

Fighter is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Jonathan is keeping busy.

Jonathan is pushing Fighter up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Jonathan continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.

Jonathan lands an elbow inside.
Fighter jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jonathan walks away with a smile on his face. Fighter gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jonathan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jonathan fails in his attempt to clinch.
Jonathan tries to clinch up.
Fighter shoots in looking for a takedown. Jonathan tries to sprawl out of it but Fighter keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jonathan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jonathan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fighter swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Stan Jonathan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jonathan fails in his attempt to clinch.
Fighter uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jonathan.
Jonathan tries to clinch but Fighter is having none of it.
Jonathan throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Fighter counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Jonathan throws a leg kick that is checked
and Fighter counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Jonathan thinking.

Fighter looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Fighter is looking to land body kicks.
Jonathan tries to clinch but Fighter moves out of range.
Jonathan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fighter swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jonathan is looking to clinch.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Jonathan, right into the meat.
Jonathan misses with a few strikes there.
Jonathan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fighter.
Jonathan works over Fighter's head and body with a nice combination.
Jonathan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Fighter throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jonathan sees it coming and avoids it easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jonathan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fighter swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jonathan tries a head kick but it misses.
Fighter swings and misses with a hook to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stan Jonathan dominated that round.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Fighter tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jonathan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fighter somewhat.
Fighter misses with a body kick.
Jonathan jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Jonathan takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Fighter lands with a nice body punch.
Fighter circles away from the clinch attempt
and Fighter makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Jonathan takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Fighter throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jonathan was covering up waiting for the punch and Fighter finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Fighter won't allow Jonathan to get back to his feet.

Fighter passes Jonathan's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Jonathan is staying active underneath Fighter, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Jonathan is in trouble now - Fighter has advanced to mount!
Jonathan is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Fighter scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Jonathan tries to reverse the position but Fighter maintains control.
Fighter breaks from Jonathan's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Fighter sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Fighter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Fighter looking to control but Jonathan is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jonathan is bucking up trying to escape but Fighter cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Fighter working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Fighter throwing strikes here but Jonathan is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Fighter wants to control the pace but Jonathan is squirming around nicely.
Fighter is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jonathan is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Jonathan is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Jonathan tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Fighter shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jonathan as he jumps to the side.
Fighter throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Fighter shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Fighter prevents Jonathan from improving his position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jonathan can do anything to dispel that myth.
Jonathan wants to control but Fighter is keeping busy.
Jonathan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fighter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fighter trying to pass the guard but Jonathan defending well.
Jonathan is trying to control but can't.
Fighter prevents Jonathan from standing back up.
Jonathan avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Fighter.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Jonathan tries to clinch there but Fighter circles away.
Stan Jonathan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jonathan forces Fighter back against the cage and clinches.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fighter blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Jonathan lands a nice knee to the body.
Jonathan prevents a body shot from Fighter.
Jonathan connects with a knee to the head.
Fighter tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Jonathan just leaning against Fighter, taking a breather.
Fighter is looking to control Jonathan's arms but Jonathan gets an underhook and turns him. Now Fighter has his back to the cage.
Jonathan scores with a knee to the head.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Fighter fails to pull guard.
Fighter tries to throw a body punch but Jonathan avoids it by throwing Fighter back against the cage.
Fighter tries a body shot but Jonathan blocks it.
Jonathan is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Jonathan lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Fighter tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

and Fighter counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Steve Fighter showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Fighter has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
