Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rudi Guns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bangor Mash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guns comes to the cage accompanied by diamonds and guns. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rudi Guns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bangor Mash!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mash swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Mash throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Guns was covering up waiting for the punch and Mash finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Guns looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Guns keeping full guard, as Mash tries to pass.

Guns working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mash doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mash manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Guns bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mash's guard.
Mash looking for a sweep. Not yet Mash, not yet.

Guns drops back looking for a leg! Mash is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mash manages to kick Guns off! Guns jumps back into Mash's guard.

Guns thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Mash lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Guns!

Guns is looking to get to half guard.
Mash takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The referee warns Guns that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Mash lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Mash is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Guns can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Guns tries to hold on but Mash pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mash landing strikes from the mount and Guns is in trouble!

Guns working to try and regain half guard.
Mash controlling his opponent.
Guns sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Guns works his way to full guard. Good work.
Mash trying to control the position from guard on top but Guns is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Guns is on top in guard.
Mash wants to sweep here but Guns controlling him for the moment.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Mash throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Guns drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Guns jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Guns is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Guns passes into half guard.

Guns is working for a kimura but Mash is defending it quite comfortably.
Mash is looking to improve his position.

Guns seems to be looking for submissions.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Mash gets back to full guard.
Mash is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Mash keeping moving, preventing Guns from controlling successfully.
Mash tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mash shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Guns as he avoids it easily.
Guns misses with a takedown attempt
and Mash connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Guns looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Mash!
Mash tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Guns with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Mash is looking to get to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bangor Mash dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Guns darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Guns not doing much here.

Mash is defending against the submission attempts here by Guns.

Guns wants to work for an arm triangle but Mash is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Guns seems to be looking for submissions.
Guns is thwarting Mash's attempts to control the position.
Mash tries to get to full guard but Guns has control of the leg.

Guns is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mash defends it well.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Mash throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Mash shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Guns tries to roll over but Mash keeps him under control.
Mash winds up and cracks Guns with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Guns wants to control but Mash is keeping busy.

Mash throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Mash throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Mash wants to free his trapped foot but Guns is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Mash working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Mash prevents Guns from improving his position.

Guns has hold of Mash's hands but Mash slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Guns won't allow Mash to pass to mount.
Mash is controlling the pace.

Guns is in trouble now - Mash has advanced to mount!

Mash lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Mash trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Guns sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Guns looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Guns trying to hold on to Mash's head to control him but Mash postures up.
Mash throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Mash seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Guns does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Guns flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Mash controlling the pace.
Guns is trying to get back to full guard.

Bangor Mash showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Mash slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Guns sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Guns is staying active underneath Mash, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Mash with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Guns is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mash pulls his head out easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Guns slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Mash is posturing up here but Guns has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Mash tries to roll out but it's too tight and Mash has to tap! Slick submission there by Guns!
