Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Rob Herbert! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Craig Broph! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Richard Clark and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Herbert tries to close the distance and clinch up but Broph swats him away and circles back towards the center. Herbert tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Broph paws at him with a jab and circles away. Herbert tries to clinch up but Broph circles away and keeps his distance. Herbert lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
It looks like Craig Broph has been cut. Broph lands with a nice combination. Herbert backs away looking to recover. Craig Broph seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Broph throws a hook but Herbert avoids it easily. Herbert darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Broph scores with a decent looking hook. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Herbert fails with an attempt to clinch.
Broph connects with a right hand. Herbert shakes it off. Broph lands the left hand. Broph misses with a double jab.
Broph throws a shot to the body.
Broph fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Herbert avoids it really well and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Broph fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Herbert throws a left and a right that both miss
and Broph cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. The fighters circling - Broph throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Broph scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Broph in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Herbert is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
