Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazuyuki Miyata! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lance Knight! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Knight will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Miyata looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Knight changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Miyata tries to avoid it but Knight manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Miyata to the ground. Miyata escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Knight shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Miyata blocking the ground and pound attempt from Knight. Knight is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Miyata is defending against the submission attempts here by Knight.
Knight seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Miyata does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knight is looking to advance position but Miyata won't allow it. Knight is keen to just control but Miyata is a slippery customer. Knight uses his free foot to push down on Miyata's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Miyata. Knight throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Miyata holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Knight tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Knight takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Miyata on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Miyata tries to get out of the position. Knight swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Miyata is now in Knight's guard. A big mistake from Knight there, giving up the dominant position! Knight controlling the position. That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Miyata wants to control from the top but Knight keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Miyata trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Knight is on top in guard.

Knight shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Knight is trying to control. Miyata wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Miyata blocking the ground and pound attempt from Knight. Knight looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Knight is keen to just control but Miyata is a slippery customer.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Horrible takedown by Knight or perhaps it was just good defense by Miyata which made him look bad. No luck with that takedown attempt from Knight. Miyata closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Miyata lands in his opponent's guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Knight keeping moving, preventing Miyata from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Lance Knight will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Knight gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Miyata counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Knight's guard now. Knight is trying to control the position but Miyata postures up. Miyata showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Knight is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Knight looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Miyata sitting in guard, not really doing much. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knight had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Miyata defends it easily. Miyata tries to free his leg and advance position but Knight is retaining full guard. Lance Knight has got the better of the ground game so far. Miyata trying to control but Knight is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Miyata tries to free his leg and advance position but Knight is retaining full guard. Miyata passes into half guard. Knight wants to get back to full guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Knight bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Knight looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Knight goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Miyata rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Knight's guard! Nice work there by Miyata!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A head kick misses from Knight. Lance Knight is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Knight shoots and misses and Miyata decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Knight's guard. Knight is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Miyata sitting in guard, not really doing much. Miyata has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
And that's the end of the fight! Kazuyuki Miyata showed his dominance in that final round. I think Knight has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
