Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ultimate Grappler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Gabriel Marcurius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grappler comes into the arena with Street Fighter EX plus Alpha OST - God Hands blaring out of the sound system. Marcurius has chosen Burn in Hell by Twisted Sister as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grappler tries to close the distance and clinch but Marcurius swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ultimate Grappler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Grappler wants to clinch up but Marcurius keeps it at a distance.

and Marcurius counters with a nice double leg into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Grappler escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Marcurius gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Grappler had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Marcurius defends it easily.

Marcurius drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Marcurius jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Marcurius stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Grappler swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Marcurius drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Marcurius jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Marcurius is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Marcurius wants to control from the top but Grappler keeps moving.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Marcurius drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Marcurius is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Grappler knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Grappler is trying to improve his position.

Grappler tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Marcurius wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Marcurius looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Grappler with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Marcurius is keen to just control but Grappler is a slippery customer.

Marcurius is trying to work for a kimura but Grappler is defending well.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Marcurius connects with a nice short shot to Grappler's temple.

Grappler with a lazy takedown attempt
and Marcurius counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Grappler's guard now.
Grappler is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Marcurius drops back looking for a leg! Grappler is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Grappler manages to kick Marcurius off! Marcurius jumps back into Grappler's guard.
Victor Gabriel Marcurius has got the better of the ground game so far.
Marcurius is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Grappler has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Marcurius is looking to defend but Grappler has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Marcurius! Grappler pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Marcurius taps out and this one is all over!
