Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Kermodian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kermodian comes into the arena with Arctic Monkeys - Mardy Bum blaring out of the sound system. Andrew Carter acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Kermodian! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andrew Carter! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown by Carter or perhaps it was just good defense by Kermodian which made him look bad. Kermodian pushes Carter up against the cage in a clinch. Kermodian with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Kermodian throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Carter blocks it with crossed arms. Kermodian tries to land a knee to the head but Carter blocks with his arms.
Kermodian misses with a knee strike.
Carter tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kermodian smiles and moves away.
Carter throws a nice looking combination but Kermodian bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Nice uppercut there from Kermodian. Carter scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Kermodian blocking the ground and pound attempt from Carter. Carter is thwarting Kermodian's attempts to control the position. Kermodian holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Kermodian tries to get to full guard but Carter has control of the leg. Kermodian trying to control but Carter postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carter is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Kermodian has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carter is pressing down on Kermodian's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kermodian is holding on for now. Kermodian on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Kermodian wants to get back to full guard. Carter is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Kermodian is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Carter looking to secure an arm triangle but Kermodian defends it well. Carter throwing strikes here but Kermodian is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Carter has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Carter dominating with strikes here. Kermodian tries to lock up and control but Carter gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Kermodian can't escape the position.
Kermodian regains half guard. Carter wants to work for an arm triangle but Kermodian is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Carter looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kermodian has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Carter is working away from the top position though. Kermodian is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Carter is trying to work for a kimura but Kermodian is defending well.
Carter is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Kermodian wants to control but Carter is keeping busy and won't allow it. Kermodian tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Kermodian is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Carter's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Carter's back! Kermodian scores with punches to the body. Kermodian keeps control of the position easily here as Carter tries to buck him off.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kermodian is striking from the back but Carter escapes and manages to recover to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carter trying to get back to full guard but Kermodian takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Carter is squirming around, avoiding Kermodian's attempts to control the action. Carter can't escape the position.
Carter sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Carter wants to improve his position but Kermodian is controlling well.
Kermodian is keen to just control but Carter is a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. It looks like Kermodian is going to stand back up.
Kermodian throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Carter avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kermodian. Carter tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Kermodian slips a nice elbow through Carter's hands, connecting with Carter's forehead. Kermodian seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Carter does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Carter checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Carter closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kermodian circles away. Mark Kermodian has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Carter. Carter shoots in and drives through. Kermodian sprawls well. Kermodian is looking to slow Carter down with leg kicks. Mark Kermodian is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Carter shoots in and bounces Kermodian off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Kermodian looking to control.
Carter throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Kermodian wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Carter wants to control from the top but Kermodian keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Andrew Carter will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Carter is rocked! Carter is refusing to be controlled, as Kermodian sits in half guard. Carter is still in real trouble! Can Kermodian finish him? Carter wants to get back to full guard. Carter seems to have recovered his senses. Kermodian is controlling the pace.
Carter manages to get to full guard.
Kermodian not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Carter working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kermodian doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kermodian manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Kermodian trying to control but Carter is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carter looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kermodian is one step ahead there. Carter working for a triangle but Kermodian defends it easily.
Carter being controlled here, momentarily. Kermodian wants to control from the top but Carter keeps moving. Kermodian is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Mark Kermodian just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Carter takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Kermodian lands a with a good body shot. The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kermodian tries a knee to the head but Carter blocks it.

Carter drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kermodian pulls his leg out and moves away.
Carter is breathing heavily. Kermodian pushes Carter up against the cage in a clinch. Carter has hold of one of Kermodian's legs. Kermodian is fighting the takedown attempt but Carter gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Kermodian looking to control but Carter passes into half guard.
Carter wants to pass to mount but Kermodian is defending the position. Carter works his way into full mount! Kermodian prevents any damage by holding on tight. Kermodian has given up his back. Will we see Carter going for some submissions?

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kermodian holding both Carter 's hands and preventing any damage. Carter missing with punches from the back. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Carter has the hooks in. Kermodian is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Carter working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Carter trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Carter is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Kermodian taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Carter.
