Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Harris! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peter Steiner! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Steiner. Steiner shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Harris tries to get to full guard but Steiner has control of the leg. Steiner not landing any meaningful shots this time. Harris wants to improve his position but Steiner is controlling well.
Harris is looking to escape. Harris is trying to maintain the position but Steiner is very close to passing his half guard. Harris manages to get to full guard.
Harris wants to stand up but Steiner is controlling him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Steiner fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Steiner stuffs the takedown attempt from Harris. Harris gets slowly back to his feet. Harris gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Harris looking for a guillotine here but Steiner defends easily.
Harris on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Harris tries to get out of the position. Harris keeping moving, preventing Steiner from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steiner looks gassed! Harris is trying to control the position but Steiner postures up. Steiner throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Harris controlling Steiner's posture. Steiner must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Steiner got a little sloppy there for a moment and Harris has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Steiner has managed to get both his arms back between Harris's legs - danger averted. Steiner wanted to stand there but Harris had control of the position. Harris trying to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harris bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Steiner's guard. Harris landing with the ground and pound. Harris distracts Steiner with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Steiner is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Harris is controlling him. Harris postures up and lands a big shot to Steiner's brow. Harris lands a couple of digs. Harris stays in close to Steiner's body and controls the position. Harris distracts Steiner with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Harris's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harris postures up and lands a big shot to Steiner's brow. Harris advances to half guard. Harris working Steiner over with strikes. Steiner on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Harris slows the pace down in half guard. Steiner is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Harris scores with a couple of nice shots. Harris has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Harris working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Harris wants to work for an arm triangle but Steiner is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Nice strikes from Harris there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paul Harris dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Steiner goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Harris gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Steiner counters with a flying knee. Nice. Steiner has managed to clinch.
Steiner jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Harris walks away with a smile on his face. Steiner gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Harris wants to clinch and Steiner counters with a left and a right that stings Harris. Harris fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Steiner doesn't succeed with the takedown and Harris counters with a single leg into guard. Steiner didn't expect that. Paul Harris overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harris is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Steiner is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Harris controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Harris tries to free his leg and advance position but Steiner is retaining full guard. Harris working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Harris slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Harris advances position into side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. A lull in the action here as Harris stalls from top position. Steiner looks to move to half guard but instead Harris has passed into mount! Damn! Harris looking to control and managing it successfully. Harris quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Harris but it's paid off an Steiner is forced to tap! Nice work by Harris.
