Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Maik Pellicciai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wes Weddle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Weddle is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by remember the name - fort minor. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Maik Pellicciai! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wes Weddle! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Weddle scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Pellicciai is trying to get back to full guard. Weddle slips a nice elbow through Pellicciai's hands, connecting with Pellicciai's forehead. Pellicciai actively working from the bottom here. Weddle drops an elbow to the side of Pellicciai's head. Weddle looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pellicciai with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Weddle is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Pellicciai has hold of Weddle's hands but Weddle slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Weddle is nestled in close to Pellicciai, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Weddle throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Pellicciai checks a leg kick. Horrible takedown by Weddle or perhaps it was just good defense by Pellicciai which made him look bad. Weddle throws a hook to the side of Pellicciai's head but Pellicciai sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Weddle is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pellicciai sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Maik Pellicciai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wes Weddle. Pellicciai throws a right hand that Weddle ducks under and follows up with a left that Weddle also avoids with ease. Pellicciai lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Weddle tries to clinch up. Weddle fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Pellicciai takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Pellicciai fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Maik Pellicciai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pellicciai displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Weddle. Pellicciai misses with a few strikes there.
