Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Barrie Erskine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Sarmiento (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joseph Sarmiento!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Erskine rushes Sarmiento and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Sarmiento changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Erskine fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Erskine defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sarmiento.
Erskine throws a series of punches but Sarmiento avoids them all with ease.
Sarmiento looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Erskine is fending him off so far but Sarmiento persists. Nope, Erskine circles away and we're back to standing.
Barrie Erskine has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joseph Sarmiento.
Sarmiento shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Erskine as he avoids it easily.
Erskine's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Erskine duly obliges.
Erskine really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Erskine leaves Sarmiento with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Erskine counters with a nice body kick.

Erskine tries to bum rush Sarmiento with a series of wild strikes but Sarmiento uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Erskine throws a nice looking combination but Sarmiento bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Erskine has taken the fight to the clinch.

Erskine has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sarmiento uses from the top position.
Erskine wants to get back to his feet but Sarmiento is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Sarmiento looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Erskine will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Erskine is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Erskine lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Sarmiento doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Erskine counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Erskine lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Erskine closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sarmiento to the mat! Sarmiento manages to get full guard.

Erskine stands up and waves to Sarmiento to follow him.

Erskine throws a one two combo.

Erskine escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

A frustrated look appears on Sarmiento's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Erskine breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Erskine lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Erskine.

Erskine closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Sarmiento tries to clinch but Erskine moves away

and Erskine decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sarmiento's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Erskine content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Sarmiento looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Sarmiento wants to stand and escape but Erskine is having none of it.

Erskine has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Erskine is working the combinations to good effect here.

Sarmiento manages to work his way to half guard, despite Erskine's best efforts.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Erskine wants to stand up but Sarmiento is controlling the position.

Erskine looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sarmiento with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Erskine stands up and beckons Sarmiento to join him on the feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Erskine, as that shot connected.
Erskine scores with a one two! Sarmiento had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Erskine throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sarmiento stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Erskine lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Erskine shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sarmiento is trying to defend but Erskine finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Erskine closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Sarmiento is trying to stand back up but Erskine is controlling him

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Erskine throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sarmiento was covering up waiting for the punch and Erskine finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Erskine decides to stand back up. Erskine steps back and let's Sarmiento get back to his feet.
Barrie Erskine is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Barrie Erskine is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Erskine. Sarmiento shrugs it off though.
Erskine is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sarmiento can do to turn this around?

Joseph Sarmiento has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Erskine has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
