Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Petkov!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Christian Holtz!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holtz has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Holtz shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Petkov is trying to defend but Holtz finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Holtz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Petkov keeps working.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Holtz in particular looking to stall.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Petkov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Holtz.

Petkov's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Petkov duly obliges.

and Holtz counters with a nice double leg into side control. Petkov won't be happy with that.
Petkov tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Holtz is looking to take a break and control but Petkov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Holtz drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Petkov tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Holtz wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Holtz throws a strike aimed at the side of Petkov's head but Petkov avoids it well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Holtz wants to control but Petkov is keeping him busy.
Petkov seems a little lost for a moment, as Holtz dominates the positioning.

Petkov is not content to let Holtz control the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Holtz shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Petkov is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Holtz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Petkov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Holtz moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

enabling Petkov to counter with a crisp jab.
Petkov fails with the takedown
and Holtz counters with a two punch combo.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Petkov. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Petkov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Christian Holtz dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Petkov displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Holtz throws out the jab.
Holtz scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Holtz throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Holtz catches Petkov with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!


Petkov is rocked!

and Holtz counters by clinching up.
Oh Petkov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Holtz jumps guard.

Petkov seems to have got his legs back now.

Petkov really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Holtz is trying to control the position but Petkov postures up.
Petkov passes Holtz's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Petkov stops Holtz from getting back to his feet.

Petkov seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Holtz is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Peter Petkov!
