Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ladanian Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JM CQ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). JM CQ has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ladanian Peterson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ladanian Peterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, JM CQ!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around CQ's waist but CQ gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Peterson off to one side.
Peterson dives in and grabs CQ's left leg, looking for a takedown. CQ pushes down on Peterson's head and hops out.
A right-left combo lands from Peterson.
Peterson throws a right hand that CQ ducks under and follows up with a left that CQ also avoids with ease.
CQ blocks the body kick.
CQ delivers a nice body kick.
Peterson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Peterson throws a looping overhand right but CQ ducks down to avoid it.
Peterson throws a head kick that misses.
Peterson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Peterson fails to land with a series of punches.
Peterson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Peterson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ladanian Peterson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
CQ slips a jab and a cross from Peterson.
CQ shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Peterson as he jumps to the side.

Peterson throws an overhand right that lands on CQ's shoulder, as CQ tries to avoid the shot.

and CQ counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by CQ.
Peterson is breathing heavily.

CQ thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Peterson is pulling down on CQ's head. It's preventing any offense from CQ, at least for the moment.
Peterson is looking to stand back up but CQ counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Peterson.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with CQ in particular looking to stall.

CQ looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

CQ is trying to work for a kimura but Peterson is defending well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Peterson is looking to escape.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

and CQ counters with a two punch combo.
Peterson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Peterson closes this distance looking for a takedown but CQ circles away.
Peterson cracks CQ with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

CQ drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Peterson dives on top into guard.

Peterson stands up from CQ's guard - Peterson perhaps looking for a knockout.
Peterson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Peterson closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Peterson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A jab from Peterson finds it's way through CQ's defenses.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Peterson is defended easily by CQ.

and CQ decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Peterson's guard.

Peterson wants to stand up but CQ is controlling him.

Peterson pushes CQ off and gets back to his feet.
Peterson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Peterson looks to throw a body kick

and CQ counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

CQ wants to work for an arm triangle but Peterson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Peterson is looking to escape.
Peterson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Peterson controlling the position for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Peterson gets full guard.

Peterson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Peterson has his feet on CQ's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

JM CQ showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Peterson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Peterson tries for a takedown but CQ sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
CQ avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
CQ on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Peterson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but CQ moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Peterson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Peterson has a takedown stuffed.
CQ shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Peterson as he avoids it easily.
Peterson throws a head kick but CQ moves out of range.
Peterson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Ladanian Peterson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

CQ checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Peterson lands with a kick to the temple. CQ shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Peterson misses with the combination.
Peterson throws a series of punches but CQ avoids them all with ease.

and CQ counters with a head kick.

Peterson is wriggling around but CQ manages to pass to half guard.

Peterson pushes CQ off looking to stand but CQ dives back in and keeps control.

Peterson regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from CQ.

Peterson throws a left and a right that both miss

and CQ decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Peterson's guard.
Peterson wants to stand up but CQ is controlling him.
Peterson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for CQ on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

CQ drops back, looking for a kneebar! Peterson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Peterson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Peterson!
Ladanian Peterson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Peterson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
JM CQ is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Peterson swings around for an armbar but CQ sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Peterson's guard.

JM CQ comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got CQ winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
