Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyrel Sackett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel LaRusso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sackett comes to the cage accompanied by Highway to Hell. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyrel Sackett! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel LaRusso! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! LaRusso throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sackett sees it coming and avoids it easily. Sackett throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Sackett misses with a wild combination.
Sackett swats away the attempt to clinch by LaRusso. Sackett slips a jab from LaRusso. Sackett scores with a head kick.
It looks like Daniel LaRusso has been cut. LaRusso misses with an uppercut. A big left from LaRusso misses. LaRusso checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Sackett fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. LaRusso sprawls well initially but Sackett persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Sackett thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed LaRusso's head. Sackett landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. LaRusso avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Sackett. Sackett thows a huge punch but LaRusso dodges it nicely.
Sackett thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing LaRusso to regain full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sackett throwing strikes but missing. LaRusso is trying to keep Sackett in close.
Sackett lands a couple of decent looking shots. Sackett throwing strikes from guard but LaRusso blocks nicely. LaRusso wants to stand up but Sackett is controlling him. Sackett looking to pass the guard. LaRusso really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sackett. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sackett is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. LaRusso looking for a sweep. Not yet LaRusso, not yet. LaRusso working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sackett. Sackett trying to control but LaRusso is working from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. A big right from LaRusso misses. LaRusso looks to score with a jab to the body but Sackett is just out of range. Daniel LaRusso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. LaRusso throws a hook but Sackett blocks it. Sackett moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
That's three minutes gone in the round. LaRusso fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sackett looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. A head kick misses from Sackett. Sackett just misses with a punch to the body.
LaRusso misses with an uppercut. Sackett saw that one coming. Sackett keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sackett gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows LaRusso to score an easy takedown into full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sackett has his hands on LaRusso's head, controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. LaRusso tries to stand but Sackett is controlling from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tyrel Sackett dominated that round. The cut man is working on Daniel LaRusso's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
LaRusso scores with a decent looking hook. LaRusso scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Sackett moves in looking to clinch but LaRusso pushes him off. LaRusso misses with a wild body shot. Sackett ducks under a wild hook from LaRusso. The crowd cheers as Sackett lands an impressive looking overhand right. LaRusso doesn't seem phased though. Sackett swats away the attempt to clinch by LaRusso. LaRusso throws a hook to the side of Sackett's head but Sackett sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. A bone on bone clash there as LaRusso blocks the leg kick.
LaRusso throws a sloppy body shot
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. LaRusso throws a combination that misses and Sackett connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sackett slips under a jab from LaRusso. LaRusso pushing out the jab but it's not landing. LaRusso on the wrong end of a nice hook.
LaRusso is rocked! LaRusso throws a right and a left that both miss. Sackett takes one to the chin there.
That's one minute gone in the round. LaRusso throws a series of punches but Sackett moves out of range. LaRusso fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sackett manages to avoid it. LaRusso circles away from the clinch attempt.
LaRusso slips under a jab from Sackett. Sackett on the wrong end of a nice hook. A looping hook to the body misses from LaRusso. Sackett does a little dance to reset his feet. Sackett misses with a series of wild punches.
Sackett is looking to land body kicks. Tyrel Sackett is winning the standup battle so far. LaRusso thows a left - swing and a miss! LaRusso tries to clinch up. LaRusso tries to close the distance and clinch but Sackett swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. LaRusso with a nice cross. Sackett throws a body kick that misses. LaRusso misses with a hook. Sackett ducked under it nicely. LaRusso pushes Sackett up against the cage in a clinch. LaRusso throws a head punch that misses. Sackett is trying to force a seperation but LaRusso has the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sackett lands a knee to the body.
Sackett blocks a body shot from LaRusso. Sackett wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but LaRusso has him pressed against the cage. LaRusso misses with some punches.
Sackett softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. LaRusso tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Sackett's elbow. Sackett escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
LaRusso misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sackett.
Sackett keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sackett takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Sackett lands a big head kick that sends LaRusso to the canvas! Sackett follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tyrel Sackett! Tyrel Sackett is the new light heavyweight champion!
