Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Albert Renard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nacho Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Renard might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Daily Round - Hacrid. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Albert Renard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nacho Diaz! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Renard misses with the combination.
Renard moves out of range of the body kick. Renard moves into range and clinches up with Diaz. Diaz has had enough of the clinch but Renard keeps him there for the moment. Diaz is trying to break the clinch but Renard has him pressed against the cage. Renard pushes Diaz back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Diaz has had enough of the clinch but Renard keeps him there for the moment. Renard blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Renard turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Diaz parries the strikes from Renard easily there. Renard is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Diaz to escape.
Renard takes a little break here. Diaz wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Renard trying to control the action but Diaz is working from the bottom. Diaz gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Diaz had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Renard is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Diaz Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Renard's back instead. Even with his hooks in, Diaz manages to miss with strikes from the back. Renard is trying to break free.
Renard is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet. Diaz dodges the punch combination from Renard.
Diaz throws a series of punches but Renard moves out of range. Renard feints and as Diaz raises his hands in defense, Renard changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Renard not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Renard in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Diaz is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Renard is controlling him. Diaz looks gassed! Renard avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Renard stays in close to Diaz's body and controls the position. Diaz is looking for a triangle but Renard pushes his legs off easily.
Diaz avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Renard trying to control but Diaz is working from the bottom. Renard has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Diaz is looking to stand up but Renard isn't so interested in that idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Renard is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Diaz Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Renard's back instead. Renard is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Diaz fails to land with a series of punches.

Renard rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Diaz moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Diaz tries to clinch and Renard connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Renard moves into the clinch. A head punch blocked on the inside by Renard. Renard breaks the clinch.
Diaz moves out of range of the body kick. Renard gets the takedown into side control. Diaz is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Renard working away. Renard is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Diaz has escaped the position, nice work there. Diaz is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Renard is controlling him well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Renard breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Renard moves into the clinch. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Renard takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Diaz wants to break the clinch but can't.

It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Renard manages to end up in side control. Renard has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Renard throws a chopping leg kick but Diaz manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Renard scores with a decent looking hook. Diaz connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Renard's hands. Renard misses with the combination.
Nacho Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Renard fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Diaz is out of range. Renard scores with a three punch combo!
Renard takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Renard throws a right and a left that both miss. Renard clinches up with Diaz and pushes him back against the cage. Renard wants the takedown. Diaz is fighting it off but Renard persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Diaz's guard against the cage. Diaz lands an overhand right. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Renard moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Diaz throws a right and a left that Renard avoids nicely. Diaz swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Diaz takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Diaz takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Renard clinches with his opponent.

Diaz wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Diaz is trying to break the clinch but Renard has him pressed against the cage. Renard prevents Diaz from breaking the clinch.

Diaz is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Renard lands a body punch in the clinch. Renard looking to throw knees to the head but Diaz is blocking nicely.
Diaz has Renard pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Renard manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Albert Renard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nacho Diaz. Diaz misses with some punches.

Diaz goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Renard has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Diaz but great work by Renard. That's four minutes gone in the round. Diaz is looking to regain half guard here but Renard keeps moving and retains side control. Diaz tries to escape but Renard is in control. Renard scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Diaz to see if he's OK. Diaz seems a little lost for a moment, as Renard dominates the positioning. Renard is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Diaz has escaped the position, nice work there. Diaz manages to get back to half guard. Renard stalling. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Renard stops Diaz from getting back to his feet.

Albert Renard dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Renard throws a front kick aimed at Diaz's knee but Diaz avoids it well. A combination from Renard does no damage. Renard throws a series of punches but Diaz moves out of range. Diaz shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Renard counters with a nice double leg into guard. Diaz working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Renard. Renard won't allow Diaz to get back to his feet. Renard trying to control the position from guard on top but Diaz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Renard passes Diaz's left leg - he's now in half guard. Renard content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Diaz is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Renard's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Renard's back! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Renard just trying to survive but Diaz is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Albert Renard overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Diaz tightening his grip on Renard, looking for the choke.

Renard is trying to get back to his feet but Diaz has full control of the position and if anything, Renard has just worked his way into a worse spot. Diaz punches the canvas rather than the man. Diaz looking for the RNC. Renard turns into Diaz and is now in his guard.
Diaz is looking to stand up but Renard isn't so interested in that idea. Renard content to stall in guard here. Renard wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving. Renard stands up from Diaz's guard - Renard perhaps looking for a knockout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Donk. Renard catches Diaz right on the button with a cross. Renard walks into a jab. A nice combination there by Diaz.
Renard is rocked! Diaz tries to clinch but Renard moves away and Renard holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Oh Renard is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Renard escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Diaz throws a right hand that Renard ducks under and follows up with a left that Renard also avoids with ease. Renard seems to have got his legs back now. Renard misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Diaz tries to break the clinch but Renard is controlling the position. Renard breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Renard counters into the clinch. Nicely done. The is referee keeping an eye on Renard - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Diaz wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Renard has him pressed against the cage. Renard lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Diaz or not. Diaz wants to break free but Renard has control.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Renard keeps control of Diaz as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Renard works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Diaz keeping moving, preventing Renard from controlling successfully. Diaz lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Renard! Diaz punishing his opponent with strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Diaz tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Renard blocking the ground and pound. Renard is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Diaz is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Renard has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Renard! Renard is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Diaz looking for a guillotine here but Renard defends easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Diaz throws his legs up looking for a submission but Renard uses it to pass to side control.
And that's the end of the fight! Nacho Diaz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Renard has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
