Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between GEORGES STPIERRE (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Mintera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, GEORGES STPIERRE! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roger Mintera! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mintera gets in close and instigates a clinch. STPIERRE stops a takedown attempt from Mintera.
STPIERRE breaks from the clinch.
Mintera closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Mintera is keen to just control but STPIERRE is a slippery customer. STPIERRE is holding on to half guard well. STPIERRE trying to hold on to Mintera's head to control him but Mintera postures up.
STPIERRE is refusing to be controlled, as Mintera sits in half guard. Mintera wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. STPIERRE wants to control but Mintera passes into side.
Mintera decides to stand back up. No luck for STPIERRE with that takedown attempt. Mintera lands with a nice body punch. STPIERRE wants to clinch up but Mintera keeps it at a distance. Mintera forces STPIERRE back against the cage and clinches. STPIERRE fails to pull guard.
STPIERRE taking a breather. STPIERRE is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. STPIERRE looking for a takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for GEORGES STPIERRE. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mintera breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. STPIERRE circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mintera fails with the takedown and STPIERRE counters by moving into the clinch. STPIERRE pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Mintera shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Mintera was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! STPIERRE is wriggling around trying to escape.
Mintera tries to control but STPIERRE wriggling away. Mintera scores with a couple of good head shots there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mintera with shots to the head and body - STPIERRE looks very uncomfortable down there. Mintera sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. STPIERRE taking shots to the head. Mintera controlling the position easily from mount. STPIERRE is in a horrible position here. Mintera smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mintera tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. STPIERRE keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roger Mintera dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Mintera darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. STPIERRE looking for submissions off his back. Mintera stalling. STPIERRE won't allow Mintera to pass to mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. STPIERRE regains full guard. Nicely done. Mintera not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Mintera decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Mintera lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as STPIERRE backs up against the cage.
Mintera throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Mintera moves into the clinch successfully.
Mintera tries to circle away but STPIERRE has him pinned against the cage. Mintera is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Mintera tries for a takedown but STPIERRE manages to get underhooks.
STPIERRE fails to pull guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mintera lands a body punch. Mintera is working for takedown but STPIERRE is calmly controlling the position for now. GEORGES STPIERRE has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roger Mintera. STPIERRE is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Mintera gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Mintera has STPIERRE pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. STPIERRE manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Mintera breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mintera wants to clinch. Mintera with a poor takedown and STPIERRE counters with a shoot takedown. Mintera fights it but they end up in guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mintera preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. STPIERRE stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mintera swivels though and keeps the full guard. Mintera is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mintera wants to sweep here but STPIERRE controlling him for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mintera has his feet on STPIERRE's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Roger Mintera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. STPIERRE on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Mintera. Mintera obviously looking to wear him down.
STPIERRE looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Mintera darts in and clinches STPIERRE up against the cage. Mintera jumps guard.
STPIERRE being controlled here momentarily. STPIERRE trying to control but Mintera is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mintera looking to sweep here. No luck so far. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mintera is on top in guard.
Mintera controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Mintera trying to control the position from guard on top but STPIERRE is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roger Mintera showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Mintera stuffs the takedown attempt from STPIERRE. STPIERRE gets slowly back to his feet. STPIERRE takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Mintera clinches. STPIERRE prevents Mintera from breaking the clinch. STPIERRE jumps guard but Mintera stands there with STPIERRE around his waist. STPIERRE gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Mintera breaks the clinch.
Mintera closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming STPIERRE to the mat! STPIERRE manages to get full guard. Mintera has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of STPIERRE is proving hard to escape from. STPIERRE trying to keep a closed guard but Mintera is proving a slippery customer.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Mintera lands a couple of digs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mintera controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Mintera drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mintera jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Mintera sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed STPIERRE's guard. STPIERRE taking some punishment here, with Mintera in his half guard. Mintera wants to get back to his feet.
Well, if Mintera is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. STPIERRE tries to kick Mintera off but Mintera keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Mintera is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mintera is controlling the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mintera stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Mintera shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. STPIERRE manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mintera has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of STPIERRE is proving hard to escape from. Mintera trying to control but STPIERRE is working from the bottom. Roger Mintera is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. STPIERRE wants to sweep here but Mintera controlling him for the moment.
And that's the end of the fight! Roger Mintera comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Mintera has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
