Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Fred Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Sherk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sherk has chosen Ghost K- Stop as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fred Stone! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sean Sherk! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stone shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sherk defends it nicely. Sherk scores with a jab to the body. Sherk lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Sherk getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Sherk lands with an overhand left. Nice sprawl there from Sherk as Stone shoots in. Sherk stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fred Stone. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jab by Sherk. A jab from Sherk finds it's way through Stone's defenses.
Stone is rocked! Stone closes the distance and clinches up with Sherk, looking for a takedown. Stone pushes Sherk against the cage but Sherk circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Stone fails with a takedown attempt. Sherk lands a head shot. Oh Stone is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Stone takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Stone shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Stone seems to have got his legs back now. Stone throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stone prevents Sherk from standing back up.
Stone has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sherk is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Sherk is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Stone working the head and body with strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sherk looks like he's trying to stand up.
Stone is pressing down on Sherk's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sherk is holding on for now. Sherk is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Stone has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A nice elbow there by Stone.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Stone wants to control the pace but Sherk is squirming around nicely. You get the feeling that Sherk really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Sherk working to try and regain half guard.
Stone moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Sherk has worked his arm free - good work by Sherk!
Sherk is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Stone is controlling him well. Stone working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Stone gets to mount! Sherk was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sherk tries to lock up and control but Stone gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. You get the feeling that Sherk really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Stone throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Stone lands a heavy elbow. Stone scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Sherk?
Stone landing strikes, looking to finish! Stone goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Sherk is on top in guard.
Stone can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sherk controls the pace. Stone is looking to stand up but Sherk isn't so interested in that idea. Stone on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Stone tries to get out of the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stone keeping full guard, as Sherk tries to pass. Sherk stands up from guard. Let's bang! Fred Stone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stone keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sherk. Sherk misses with a looping right. Stone throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sherk's waist but Sherk gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stone off to one side. Sherk throws a wild combination but nothing lands. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sherk keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Stone misses with a takedown attempt - Sherk sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sean Sherk dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Sherk lands the left hand. Stone shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Stone looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sherk is fending him off so far but Stone persists. Nope, Sherk circles away and we're back to standing. Stone walks into a straight right hand from Sherk. Stone swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Sherk connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Stone with a lazy takedown attempt and Sherk counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fred Stone. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sherk lands a left and a right that sends Stone crashing to the canvas! Sherk dives into mount looking to finish! Sherk lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Sherk is trying to control here but Stone has managed to regain half guard.
Stone is looking for a sweep. Sherk is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sherk stops Stone from getting back to his feet.
Sherk is looking to take a break and control but Stone is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sherk is nestled in close to Stone, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Sherk seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Stone does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Sherk missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Stone is looking to get back to is feet but Sherk passes into side control.
You can see the frustration on Stone's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Stone is not content to let Sherk control the position. Stone wants to get back to his feet but Sherk drags him back down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Stone is looking to regain half guard here but Sherk keeps moving and retains side control. Stone is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sherk asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Sherk misses with a double jab.
Stone takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Stone throws a head kick that misses and Sherk counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Stone thinking. Sherk tests Stone's chin there with a solid looking shot. Sherk scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Stone doesn't seem bothered though. Sherk is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Sherk might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Sherk throws out a powerful jab. Sherk cracks Stone with an open hand slap.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sherk dips to his left and cracks Stone with an uppercut! Stone throws a lazy head kick and Sherk counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Sherk lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Stone is looking to close the distance but Sherk sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Stone crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Stone is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Knee). Sean Sherk!
