PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Povar Povarovich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lylan Mitchikin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mitchikin has chosen Toxicity by System of a Down as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Lylan Mitchikin is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lylan Mitchikin!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Igor Prikhodko and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Povarovich looks for a takedown but Mitchikin sprawls well.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Povarovich.
Mitchikin being controlled for a moment.
Mitchikin is looking to regain half guard here but Povarovich keeps moving and retains side control.
Mitchikin is not content to let Povarovich control the position.
Povarovich tries to advance to mount but can't.
Mitchikin can't do much from the bottom here.

Povarovich wants to control but Mitchikin is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Mitchikin slaps away a takedown attempt from Povarovich, before circling back to the center of the mat.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Povarovich could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mitchikin is trying to get back to full guard.
Povarovich seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mitchikin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Povarovich looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Mitchikin is trying desperately to improve position.

Mitchikin prevents Povarovich from taking his back.

Mitchikin won't allow Povarovich to pass to mount.

Povarovich perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Mitchikin is positioning himself well to prevent Povarovich advancing to mount.
Mitchikin pushes Povarovich off looking to stand but Povarovich dives back in and keeps control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Povarovich is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Mitchikin is surviving well by controlling Povarovich's body position as best he can.

Povarovich wants to finish this one by submission but Mitchikin is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Povarovich.
Mitchikin is looking to improve his position but Povarovich isn't that keen on the idea.
Povarovich tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Povarovich can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mitchikin is looking to escape.
Mitchikin is trying desperately to improve position.

Povarovich with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Mitchikin is looking to improve his position but Povarovich isn't that keen on the idea.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Mitchikin defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Povarovich.
Povarovich trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Mitchikin tries to hold on but Povarovich postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mitchikin might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Povarovich kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Mitchikin is squirming around, avoiding Povarovich's attempts to control the action.

Povarovich wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mitchikin keeps working.
Mitchikin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Povarovich is working away from the top position though.
Povarovich wants to control but Mitchikin is keeping him busy.
Mitchikin works his way to full guard. Good work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mitchikin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Povarovich's guard.
Mitchikin trying to control the position from guard on top but Povarovich is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mitchikin not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Mitchikin keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Povarovich's head.
Mitchikin looking to sit in guard and control but Povarovich gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Povarovich is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Povarovich wants to control from the top but Mitchikin keeps moving.
Mitchikin pulls Povarovich in close to prevent any damage.
Povar Povarovich is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Lylan Mitchikin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Povarovich has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
