Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pedro Cruz!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darin Blood!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Cruz shoots in but Blood avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Cruz misses with a takedown attempt - Blood sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pedro Cruz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Blood feints and then cracks Cruz's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cruz down.
Blood moves into range and clinches up with Cruz.
Blood lands a body punch in the clinch.
Cruz tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Blood lands a good knee to the midsection. Cruz won't want to take too many of those.
Cruz is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Blood gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Blood has hold of one of Cruz's legs. Cruz is fighting the takedown attempt but Blood gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Cruz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Blood can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Cruz is breathing heavily.
Blood is working Cruz over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Blood postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Blood throws a big right hand that misses.

Blood forces his way into half guard.
Cruz slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blood passes Cruz's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Blood looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Blood wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cruz keeps working.
Blood winds up and cracks Cruz with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Blood has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Blood in particular looking to stall.
Blood seems to be working for a kimura but Cruz defends the submission attempt.
Blood wants to free his trapped foot but Cruz is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Blood trying to control from half guard but Cruz is working away.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Blood passes to side control.
Blood tries to move to mount but Cruz blocks the move with his legs.
Blood working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Blood scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Cruz to see if he's OK.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cruz takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Darin Blood dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Pedro Cruz's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Blood, as that shot connected.
Cruz takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Blood comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Blood thumps Cruz with a low kick.
Blood drops Cruz with a left right combo! Blood follows him down to the ground into side control.
Cruz is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Blood scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Cruz is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Blood can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Darin Blood! Darin Blood retains his middleweight title!
