Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Alard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Jason Ama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ama comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Hallelujah kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aaron Alard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Paul Jason Ama! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alard closes the distance and clinches up with Ama, looking for a takedown. Alard pushes Ama against the ropes but Ama circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ama looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Ama stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ama wants it to stay on the feet. Alard fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aaron Alard. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ama throws a sloppy head kick and Alard moves out of range easily. Ama avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Alard shoots for a takedown but Ama saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Alard shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. An inside leg kick lands from Ama. Alard tries to clinch there but Ama circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. A low kick from Alard misses and Ama counters with a nice body kick.
Alard feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Alard is looking to work some ground and pound but Ama has wrist control. Alard trying to control the position from guard on top but Ama is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Alard is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ama is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Alard drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Alard jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Alard trying to control the position from guard on top but Ama is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Alard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ama swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alard wants to control from the top but Ama keeps moving.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Alard with a lazy takedown attempt and Ama counters with a three punch combo that has Alard backing up. Alard nods at Ama to acknowledge the strikes. A low kick from Alard misses and Ama counters with a thumping low kick. Alard decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Alard seems to be working for a kimura but Ama defends the submission attempt. Alard trying to control the action but Ama is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alard throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Alard thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Alard wants to take a breather but Ama is having none of it.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Alard has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ama breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Alard swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ama counters with a nice low kick that buckles Alard's knee momentarily. Alard with a poor takedown and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Ama pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ama throws a right and a left that Alard avoids nicely. Ama avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ama swats away the attempt to clinch by Alard. Alard moves in looking to clinch but Ama pushes him off. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ama gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Alard to score an easy takedown into full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aaron Alard dominated that round. That's time! Alard's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Alard wants to clinch. Alard ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ama moves away. Ama is breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ama checks the leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Alard is defended easily by Ama. Alard doesn't succeed with the takedown and Ama counters with a nice leg kick. Alard shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Ama counters with a one-two to the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aaron Alard. That's going to take a lot out of him. Alard closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Alard lands in his opponent's guard. Alard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ama swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ama avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Alard wants to pass the guard but Ama is keeping the position. Alard throwing strikes from guard but Ama blocks nicely. Ama keeping moving, preventing Alard from controlling successfully. Alard throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ama works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Alard trying to control but Ama is working from the bottom. Alard has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Alard connects with a couple of short punches.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Alard with a lazy takedown attempt and Ama counters with a slapping leg kick. Ama takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ama throws a head kick that misses. Alard with a poor takedown and Ama counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Alard pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Alard fails with the takedown and Ama counters with a head kick. Alard misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Alard changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ama looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Ama prevents Alard from improving position. Alard working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Alard scoring with punches from side control. Ama is trying to get back to half guard. Ama wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Alard trying to control the position but Ama is working away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Alard has hold of Ama's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Ama seems comfortable defending it but Alard has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Ama is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Ama is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Alard couldn't care less - he's delighted!
