Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Henry Homes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Galen Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has chosen Why Won't He Break as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Henry Homes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Galen Jones! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Homes displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Homes feints and as Jones raises his hands in defense, Homes changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Jones pulls Homes in close to his closed guard and prevents Homes from doing any damage or advancing position. Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Homes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jones looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Homes has picked Jones up and slammed him! Jones can't keep hold of the triangle and Homes manages to pass to side control! Homes looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Homes wants to stand but Jones is controlling his arm. Jones throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Jones defending against the ground and pound. Homes tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Jones is trying to improve his position. Homes tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Homes has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Jones is trying to control Homes's posture but Homes avoids it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Homes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jones swivels and escapes. Jones keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Jones stuffs the takedown attempt from Homes. Homes gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Henry Homes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Homes is breathing heavily. Jones misses with a takedown attempt - Homes sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Homes doesn't succeed with the takedown and Jones counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Homes's guard now. Jones controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Let's hope that Jones has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones is pushing down on Homes's leg trying to pass to half guard. Homes is fighting to maintain full guard but Jones has managed to sneak the leg through. Homes looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Jones takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Homes is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jones's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jones's back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Oooh a big shot gets through from Homes. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jones breaks Homes's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Homes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jones can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Homes is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Homes is looking for a triangle but Jones pushes his legs off easily.
Homes lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jones! Jones is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Homes looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Jones defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Homes. Jones bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Jones landing some decent shots from guard. Homes pushes Jones off and gets back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Homes misses with a takedown attempt so Jones counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Jones controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Homes is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Homes jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Jones manages to avoid the submission attempt. Homes lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Homes has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Homes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Galen Jones will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Homes closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Homes working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Homes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Homes has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Jones misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Henry Homes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jones takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Homes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Jones wants to hold on but Homes pushes him away. Jones tries to reverse the position but Homes maintains control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jones is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Jones tries to lock up and control but Homes gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Homes in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Henry Homes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Homes goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Jones is on top in guard.
Homes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Homes being controlled here, momentarily. Homes wants to stand but Jones is controlling the position. Jones avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Homes manages to work his way to half guard, despite Jones's best efforts. Homes on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Jones is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Homes is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Jones scores with a couple of nice shots. Still in half guard, Jones seems content to control. Jones scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Galen Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Homes is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Homes to get the leverage. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth. Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Homes postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Jones to stand up. Homes with a poor takedown and Jones counters with a takedown into side control. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Henry Homes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jones trying to control the action but Homes is working from the bottom. Homes pushes Jones away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jones gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Jones advances to mount. Jones controlling from mount.

Homes slips a nice elbow through Jones's hands, connecting with Jones's forehead. Homes tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Homes lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Jones controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Jones is pressing down on Homes's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Homes won't allow Jones to sweep him here. Homes with a flurry of punches that miss. Homes thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Jones has his foot on Homes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Homes works his way back into a safe position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Homes advances position into side control! An elbow from Homes crashes against the mat.
Jones is looking for a sweep. A bit of a lull in the action here. Jones tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Homes wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Jones manages to work his way to half guard, despite Homes's best efforts. Homes is looking to advance position but Jones won't allow it. Jones is looking for a sweep. Homes is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Homes wants to work for an arm triangle but Jones is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Henry Homes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jones wants to control but Homes is keeping busy and won't allow it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Homes throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Homes throws a nice looking combination but Jones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Galen Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Jones winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
