Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dominic Diapollo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Pardo!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pardo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Diapollo misses with a series of wild punches.
Dominic Diapollo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Pardo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Pardo.
Diapollo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pardo on the ground.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pardo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Diapollo wants to hit a switch here but Pardo passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Diapollo there!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pardo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Diapollo can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Diapollo wants to hold on but Pardo pushes him away.

Pardo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pardo tries to get out of the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Pardo is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Diapollo defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Pardo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Diapollo is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Pardo, into his guard.
Diapollo throws a strike but Pardo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

James Pardo has got the better of the ground game so far.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Diapollo wants to get back to full guard but Pardo has passed into side control.
Pardo avoids the attempt from Diapollo to control.
Diapollo is squirming around, avoiding Pardo's attempts to control the action.
Diapollo is trying desperately to improve position.

Pardo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Diapollo is looking to escape.
Pardo lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Diapollo hang on?


It looks like Dominic Diapollo has been cut.
Diapollo is in all sorts of trouble here.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Pardo is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Diapollo has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Diapollo!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Diapollo throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Diapollo throws an overhand right that lands on Pardo's shoulder, as Pardo tries to avoid the shot.

Pardo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Diapollo wants to control the action here but instead Pardo manages to pass to full mount!

Pardo jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Diapollo manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Diapollo gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Diapollo desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Pardo is working for a kimura but Diapollo is defending it quite comfortably.

Diapollo manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Pardo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Pardo drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Pardo as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Diapollo screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Pardo! Nice submission victory there!
