1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Murilo Ruas! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Matheus Silva and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ruas is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in PitBull's half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. PitBull manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Ruas trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Ruas throwing strikes but missing. Ruas has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of PitBull is proving hard to escape from. PitBull trying to keep a closed guard but Ruas is proving a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. PitBull is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
PitBull is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. PitBull looking for a guillotine here but Ruas defends easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ruas tries to free his leg and advance position but PitBull is retaining full guard. Ruas controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Ruas working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. PitBull had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ruas defends it easily. PitBull working for a triangle but Ruas defends it easily.
PitBull is breathing heavily. PitBull has a closed guard, preventing Ruas from standing up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Ruas won't allow PitBull to get back to his feet. PitBull trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Ruas controls from within his opponent's guard. Ruas stands up and waves to PitBull to follow him. PitBull throws a nice head kick!
Ruas throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. No luck for PitBull with that takedown attempt. PitBull closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ruas circles away. PitBull misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
PitBull gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Ruas decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in PitBull's guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for NS PitBull. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ruas stands up from guard. Let's bang! Ruas looking to land some kicks to the body here.
PitBull shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Ruas counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Ruas ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ruas no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Ruas looking to hit a scissor sweep but PitBull is one step ahead there. Ruas lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for PitBull!

A nice elbow there by Ruas. PitBull slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. PitBull is looking to control Ruas's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can PitBull avoid being mounted? PitBull is trying to stand.

Well, if Ruas is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Ruas tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. PitBull works over Ruas's head and body with a nice combination. PitBull fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
PitBull misses with a takedown so Ruas counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. PitBull doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
PitBull is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. PitBull avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ruas's corner is telling him to maintain position. PitBull trying to control the position.
Ruas prevents PitBull from getting back to his feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ruas is pushing down on PitBull's leg trying to pass to half guard. PitBull is fighting to maintain full guard but Ruas has managed to sneak the leg through. PitBull looks like he's trying to stand up.
Ruas is figuring out what he wants to do next. PitBull is trying to get back to full guard. Murilo Ruas has got the better of the ground game so far. Ruas performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. PitBull kicks Ruas off and gets back to his feet. Ruas blocks a head kick by PitBull.
PitBull tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Ruas avoids the head kick by PitBull.
Ruas darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. PitBull is pressing down on Ruas's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. PitBull kicks Ruas off and gets to his feet. Ruas bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Ruas trying to control the position but PitBull is working away. PitBull is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. PitBull is looking to regain half guard here but Ruas keeps moving and retains side control. PitBull is pushing Ruas's head away, looking to escape. Ruas manages to hold on to the position though. PitBull tries to buck Ruas off but Ruas is having none of it. Ruas working the head with strikes. PitBull is trying to control Ruas's posture but Ruas avoids it. Ruas controls the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Ruas shoots for a takedown but PitBull saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. PitBull feints and as Ruas raises his hands in defense, PitBull changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. PitBull won't allow Ruas to get back to his feet. Ruas not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Ruas thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Ruas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Ruas is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. PitBull throwing strikes from guard but Ruas blocks nicely. PitBull decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. PitBull shoots in for a takedown but Ruas shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Ruas fails to land with a series of punches.
A combination from Ruas does no damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Both fighters are breathing heavily. PitBull looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ruas is one step ahead there. Ruas tries to free his leg and advance position but PitBull is retaining full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ruas looking to sit in guard and control but PitBull gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Ruas trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Ruas pulls PitBull in close to prevent any damage. PitBull looking to pass the guard. PitBull would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Ruas controlling PitBull's posture. Ruas trying to control the position.
Ruas keeping moving, preventing PitBull from controlling successfully. PitBull wants to get up but he can't break Ruas's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ruas misses with a low kick. NS PitBull seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. PitBull moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Ruas gets caught flat footed, as PitBull shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ruas is on top in guard.

PitBull wants to get back to his feet but Ruas is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Ruas trying to control but PitBull is working from the bottom. Ruas prevents PitBull from getting back to his feet. Ruas controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Ruas wants to stand but PitBull is controlling his posture from full guard.

PitBull lands with a kick to the temple. Ruas shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" NS PitBull has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Murilo Ruas is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Ruas closes the distance and clinches. PitBull throws a punch but it's blocked by Ruas.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Murilo Ruas. I've got Ruas winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
