0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roger Shanks! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shanks avoids the body shot from Neilberg.
Shanks looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Neilberg shoots in but Shanks avoids the takedown attempt easily. A jab from Neilberg finds it's way through Shanks's defenses. Shanks staying out of range there. Neilberg lands with an overhand left.
Shanks is rocked! Shanks moves out of range of the strikes. Neilberg drives through with a takedown into guard. Shanks is still in real trouble! Can Neilberg finish him? Neilberg advances position into side control! Neilberg tries to move into full mount but can't pass Shanks's legs. Neilberg in side control lands a decent elbow. Neilberg working the ground and pound. Neilberg has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Neilberg landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Neilberg landing a few strikes. Shanks is working to avoid the ground and pound but Neilberg connects with a decent elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
