Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dwayne Michael Carter II (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vos Reinaert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vos Reinaert struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 187.4lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carter II cracks Reinaert with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Carter II stuffs the takedown attempt from Reinaert. Reinaert gets slowly back to his feet. Carter II shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Reinaert napping and manages to drive through into side control! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Reinaert is trying to control Carter II's posture but Carter II avoids it. Carter II tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Carter II has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Reinaert is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Carter II is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Carter II punishing his opponent with strikes. Reinaert tries to hold on but Carter II pushes him away. Reinaert is trying desperately to improve position.

Reinaert is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Carter II has hold of Reinaert's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Reinaert manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Reinaert tries to lock up and control but Carter II gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Reinaert is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Carter II is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Reinaert can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Carter II lands a heavy elbow. Carter II looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Reinaert wants to control but Carter II is having none of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reinaert takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Reinaert closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Carter II to the mat! Carter II manages to get full guard. Carter II managing to control the position. Carter II manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Reinaert is looking to get to half guard. Carter II with good strikes from the mount here! Reinaert is breathing heavily. Carter II is working for a guillotine from mount but Reinaert frees his head quite easily.

Reinaert tries to get back to half guard but can't. Carter II with a couple of short strikes. Carter II has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Reinaert's face.
Reinaert is squirming around, avoiding Carter II's attempts to control the action. Carter II postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Reinaert looks a forlorn figure.
